Half Life 3 Theories

I have a theory for half life 3 involving appertures portal technology.

I beleive the G-Man has always used the Portal Gun in order to be one step ahead of Gordon throughout the half-life series. If you play through the games throughly or perhaps with cheats you should notice the G-Mans continual reappearence throughout the games.

Adrian Shepherd is due to make his return, Adrian also being apart of G-Mans ‘property’

Adrian Shepherd from Opposing Force infact had a basic version of the Portal Gun, only he could send enemies or himself into the Xen world with it or if already in the Xen world bonus Earth Locations were visitable if Ammo permitted.

I believe this is why G-Man was after him and helped him during early game.

I believe G-man wants or already has the apperture portal weapon and will use either Freeman, Shell or Adrian to get it for him, or to work for him with it.

It would be interesting to play as G-Man with nothing but the Portal Gun and perhaps a Time Lapse Devise. All of G-Mans secret scenes and Easteregg locations throughout the series could be made sense of, Every time the G-man helped or guided any of the Half Life Characters these events could be taken into account and perhaps played through on a time-lapse basis from the perspective of G-man, Perhaps all jumbled up and confusing but nevertheless the sense could still be made from it after repeated sessions, This could help solidify every episode of the series as G-man guides the events which eventually shape his future in bringin down the Combine and becoming the supreme commander of the Universe perhaps with Adrian Shepherd as an Inside man.

Anyway Besides the Point, I want to hear your thoughts. My opinion in one line is that G-Man has always used the Portal Gun to be one step ahead of Gordon, Adrian Shepherd, The Vortigons etc and i do expect to see the Portal Gun in half-life 3, only perhaps not for the characters we’d might expect.

For the Record, half life 3 is not confirmed but it is an inevitability due to the cliff hangers they leave us on. Nobody ever expected a half life 2 but it still came.

Thanks for Reading

None of this is going to happen. That’s just ridiculous. The Portal gun isn’t going to appear in Half-Life as anything other than an Easter egg. Again, aside from a possible name drop, Shepherd is not going to appear in another Half-Life game. And I couldn’t imagine anything more dull than playing the existing stories through G-Man’s POV.

No offense but that theory is one big nope.

I think if u actually play the game its feasable, youve been battin peoples theories down since 2009 and your probably his second account.

Play the Games from Game 1, Look at the Evidense, Re-Think.

Im not saying im right, im saying its very feasible with the existing story that G-Man has always used a Portal Devise to seemingly Vanish into thin air.

P.S a discussion involves idea’s from both parties not just opposing unjustifiable negative statements.

Kind of hard for him to use a Portal gun since HL came out in the 90’s and Portal came out in 2007 isn’t it?

Yup, your right, But the Portal and Portal 2 have some span of time between the games. We know Black Mesa and Apperture existed at the same time on the same planet competing with one and other. Obviously they probably never expected to make portal at the time of Half-Life 1 and its expansions however, The invention of the Portal Weapon by the new Valve Designers kind of perfectly ties the games together in my opinion.

You are saying you’re right. You’re justifying your answer. We are saying it is bollocks. Unfortunately, your topic choice isn’t helping, as most people honestly could care less about Half Life 3 at this point. It’s not feasible to include aperture technologies in Half Life 3 besides it’s presence in the Borealis (if the game even takes you there of course). Their presence there will undoubtedly be very minimal, most likely only existing in name and no more.

Oh, sorry, we had to JUSTIFY our statements? You certainly didn’t. And WHOSE second account are you referring to? I’ve already played Half-Life 1, 2 and the episodes, why would I want to retread those stories (other than in a remake like Black Mesa), it needs to be new.

Its an Idea, Only Valve is Right because only Valve make the story line and Valve are not going to give any clue to whats going to happen. I dont care if i’m relevent or not to modern “gamer” thoughts, im not a gamer, i play halflife and a few strategy games, i just like the storyline and im thinking of feasible ways it can be expanded to tie in with one an other. If you guys think this is some kind of threat then whatever i’l leave the forums n you can live in your own little world on here.

Its just an Idea eh.

You wanted a discussion, you’ve got one yet now you’re threatening to leave the forum? That’s a bit excessive, don’t you think?

This isnt a Discussion, its an online cull of imagination.

A ‘cull’ of imagination? I don’t see where that is happening. Whose imagination is being culled?

Oi Moderator, Your Dropping off Topic here.

Back on Target now, Come On. Focus.

A Cull of Imagination is like the Difference between Classical Science and Modern Science.

I didnt come on here for Acceptance, I wanted to see what the BlackMesaSource peoples thought of the future of half-life themselves instead of repeating age old rumours

Why does that have to be what HL3 should be about tho. Why didn’t you think of it as a spin-off game instead? That still wouldn’t make it an interesting game, anyway.

Age old rumours? Much like the ones you’re spouting? None of these have any basis in fact.

Two other things that might get you a better audience for your ‘discussion’. One, not every word needs to start with a capital letter, it’s very distracting. Secondly, the mod is called Black Mesa, not Black Mesa Source, the Source was removed by Valve’s request years ago.

And as it’s a topic that’s been done to death, you’re not going to find many people that really want to discuss it and if they do there are at least 3 other threads in this forum that are already discussing it.

One other thing, if I’m not writing in green text, I’m replying as a forum member, not a moderator.

Google What i put, Find it, and Post a Link.

I should nit pick your Moderator status shouldn’t i? Very Welcoming You.

Link Me.

Is that your Dom color?

If they were to intwine the two games in the last game as gordon enters the Apperture boat what do you think will happen?

What is your god damn problem dude? This is not a political debate, it’s god damn theories for a videogame, calm down.

Half-Life 3 should be nothing but a direct continuation of the story still firmly on Gordon’s point of view and G-Man’s mystery should be revealed (or not) from Gordon’s point of view as well. Your idea is fan fiction/mod material at best.

Im not angry, I am calm lol. I’m just direct with my writing, i always have been. but this is not about me and my assumed perceived anger.

What do you reckon G-mans mystery is? What would you put money on?

I reckon he’s a plot tool made by Valve to explain some of the more unexplainable plot points in Half-Life, and nothing more. Hell, I wouldn’t really care that much if he didn’t even show up in Half-Life 3.

I think he’s a Lizardman from Omicron Persei 8 who got bored with his videogames and now amuses himself by influencing the outcome of interdimensional wars.
