The vort that is in a train car, on red letter day, you climb on the roof and fall in through a hole.
He was to give you about, maybe, 15 suit points. You dont get any at the moment.
That’s probably because the EP2 vorts no longer have that ability. They CAN charge up your suit, but not like that.
EDIT: Finally finished Downloading. I’m gonna be gone for a few days, not that anyone would ever notice.
It’s in Route Kanal, btw.
Hmm, you know what, I think Valve managed to both improve and break HL2. The multicore support makes this game run faster than it ever did, you get dynamic shadows on the flashlight, new particle effects, like the blood and bullet impacts, achievements finally and you also get the Ep2 Vortigaunts, which, IMO, look way better than the originals.
On the other hand you get no HDR at all, Gordon’s hitbox seems to have been a bit borked (it seems wider or that everything bounces off of you more) and so far (I got to Water Hazard and quit the game) they seem to have borked both Breencast and his animations.
I mean, wtf, the 360 and PS3 versions of HL2 got HDR, why not PC as well? I don’t get it… I seriously hope this was a slip-up on Valve’s part and we actually get HDR on HL2 on a later update.
Thank God I turned off automatic updates, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to play around with all those tricks I love so much :3
Yay! Achievements! I can finally try for One Free Bullet.
Then I can break Kleiners teleporter!
It would appear to be working fine for me.
You sir must epicly fail…? You did not see that the O.B. already had that…?
Are you getting HDR on the first levels? Because I’m not.
I noticed something like that. That cop who shoots at you from the attic kept on hitting me, soI couldn’t enjoy the vista with HDR.
Yeah. It’s especially noticeable in the attic right after the office building where all the light’s coming in through the window and the holes in the roof.
Odd, I am not getting any HDR in any of the maps
That was there since the game came out in 2004. Those are light shafts and they’re actually translucent models that you can walk right through.
So yeah, they didn’t include any HDR in the maps. Not even tonemapping. Which is bullshit, because the 360 version of HL2 had those. :fffuuu:
Guys, don’t bitch about the lack of HDR, because you’re lucky you even got any of this stuff.
Sure, but to me, the reason why I waited for this update was to play HL2 with proper HDR made by Valve and not just patched up without a proper recompile by some mod. I mean, Valve actually recompiled the maps with HDR for the 360 version, so I thought they would just include those updated maps on the PC update.
But no, we get the same maps with the same flat lighting. But hey, achievements!
I didn’t say it was new. I knew it was there before. But it’s far brighter and much more prominent now than it was before.
I dunno, Bolteh was saying that the Mac versions don’t even have settings for HDR when we were discussing it earlier.
Dangit, they broke my custom skill.cfg.
Okay, now I’m really upset. They updated the airboat’s light, but it’s same as the normal flashlight. :fffuuu:
good news. i haven’t had a chance to play it yet but i’m wondering if they updated any of the models or textures from the original game. that would be nice. this is just more incentive to replay HL2 again.
They brought the new vort models from ep 2, but other then that I don’t think so. (you could look for some high res skins to go with the new graphics effects)
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
