Half Life 2 in HL1 Graphic

Well there is

Half Life 1 (HL1 Graphic) --> Black Mesa Source (HL2 Graphic)
Half Life Blue Shift (HL 1 Graphic) --> Guard Duty (HL2 Graphic)
Half Life Opposing Force (HL1 Graphic) --> Operation Black Mesa (HL2 Graphic)

Why not:

Half Life 2 (HL2 Graphic) --> [Name example: City 17] (HL1 Graphic) ?

Half Life 2 in GRAPHIC HL1 would be great huh? Sounds good huh?

welcome to the forums.

interesting idea.

but don’t type everything in bold.

So ur bscly saying u want to put HL2 on the goldsrc engine?

This idea already came to my mind one day, that would be great for goldsrc engine lovers.

@eternalness: yep that’s what he’s saying.

that would be a pretty big project, probably wont happen if you ask me. wouldn’t mind seeing someone tackle it though.

black mesa (HL1 Graphics) :awesome:

I for one would love to see this. It could be quite the endeavor.

I mean Half Life 2 Story with Half Life 1 Graphic

I think it would be awesome, but there are many reasons why it’s not going to happen:

  1. Pretty much everything in HL2 is something you can’t remake in GoldSrc due to engine limits.
  2. It would be extremely difficult to do something like that.
  3. There really isn’t no point in degeneration…

and that’s just 3.

Nobody said the contrary. :brow:

sexy.

Dude that’s awesome. Someone should put Black Mesa on the Goldsrc engine. :retard:

I agree.

oh wait…

It would be good to let people with low-end PCs play Half Life 2 I guess.

That’s not really the point. Anyway, even a low end PC these days can at least run HL2 at the lowest settings.

what would hl2 in hl1 graphics actually achieve? and how in the world would you recreate the gravity gun with the limitations of the gldsrce engine? i dont think it’d be capable and if someone did do it, the opposite of what is happening with black mesa would occur, alot of levels would be shorter or with “bits” missing. and imagine the media releases, you look at black mesa screens and your jaw drops, you look at that mod and you’d be like erm why? I think very basically what I’m trying to say is if you’re not making something better why bother?

This idea has been thought up a million times before. I’d be interested in playing something like this, I’m just not sure how possible it is.

As far as I’m aware, it’s impossible, due to the vehicle segments.

Just have the vehicles go on a set track, like the trams in OAR, and have them work like the trams also.

uhg, I can’t play HL1 anymore because I get headaches while playing.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
