Half Life 2 episode 3 discussion

Well, I think that the combine added their own things to the Borealis, either that, or we’ll see a combine base in Xen. And I think we’ll see a headcrab breeding station, where they’ll re-introduce the Gonarch, maybe attatched to the ceiling.

Rumors say that Gearbox is helping them with it…

I don’t give a fuck about bullshit rumours anymore.

Rumours said that they were working on a Steambox.
Rumours said that Half Life 3 gets announced on E3 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
Rumours said that there is a new ARG
Rumours said that it will be shown on the gamescom in 2011 and 2012.
Rumours said that Source Engine 2 gets shown on the E3 2010 instead of the Portal 2 surprise.
Also they said that it might be Half Life 2 Episode 3 on that day.
Rumours said that Episode 3 will get announced just because some files were found in the SDKs of Dota 2 and Alien Swarm.

I’m so sick of them. Everything what these fucking gamewebsites want are clicks. They don’t care if they hurt the fans with these news that should give “hope”. In the end there is just one loser: Valve. Because everyone gets mad at them, although they aren’t responsible for every bullshit news by some people who call themselves “journalists”. They just use every possibility to get clicks, because they know that Half Life is a good name to get clicks.

/\this/\

inb4 it turns into a Duke Nukem Forever fuckfest (15 years of wait for a crappy game)

That is impossible for Valve Software. The game actually gets better when they have more time to work on it.

The difference is this is a game being worked on by a single developer, and the one that understands it at that. DNF was shuffled around something like 3 different developers and was recoded entirely every couple of years. They both are taking/took forever to come out but other than that their circumstances are completely different.

Like what happened to the 9 year wait flop that was TF2 right?

Maybe HL3 lol

Let’s just agree that we really can’t know for sure anything about the next game - even if it’s going to be EP3 or HL3.

where you know?

All I know is, Valve better start talking soon. It’s been way too fucking long. It’s seriously going to be 5 years since Episode Two was released this October 10th…which is in 3 weeks.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has been released, so that’s out of the way. The only thing left is DOTA 2, which is supposed to be released sometime this year. I’m really hoping that once 2013 comes around, Valve will finally cut the shit and start telling us what’s going on.

I just find it amazing that not one word has been spoken about the next Half-Life. It honestly worries me, like it’s never gonna be made or something. Do they still have all of their voice actors on board?

I’m sorry, everytime I start thinking about this, I get pissed off and start ranting. I just really want to know what went wrong and why nothing is being said.

I believe valve is holding off on a half life 3 announcement until they’re ready to announce source 2. I mean as good as the current build of source is it’s really starting to show its age, it’s about time to push the tech forward and a new half life would be the perfect game to showcase it. I’m willing to be patient because the source engine is excellent, supporting a broad range of cpu’s and gpu’s. It’s definitely not your run of the mill hastily thrown together engine that eats most gpu’s for breakfast. *cough frostbite *cough.

HL3 is valve’s biggest franchise. Yeah they have team fortress, and portal is a good game for half life fans waiting for the next release. But most of us only care about seeing more half life content. HL3 is supposed to be the conclusion to the series so im thinking they’re running into walls when it comes to new story lines, plot elements, and working in their new engine.

I really hope Ep1 and 2 aren’t part of HL3 because i never really liked either of them and it would take away from a potentially epic game.

As for Ep3. I have come to the terms that this game is never coming out. No proof. But after 5 years why would you expect it to?

HL2 took 6 years to come out. I’m sure people were saying the same things about HL2 before it was released, that it was never coming out.

Valve will have to announce something soon. DOTA 2 is their only upcoming game release right now and sooner or later something new has to come out. I figure that after all these years, it is the perfect time to finally announce a new HL game.

Robert Culp died in 2010, so we won’t be hearing from Breen anymore.

Plus, I don’t think there have been any new Mossman lines since Episode One. That depresses me,too- Michelle Forbes is awesome.

Also, lots of the old forumites have probably already seen this, but it bears repeating.

Where indeed!

Honestly, a silence this long is probably a sign that it’s going to be awesome, whatever it will be.

Yes

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
