Half Life 2 Achievements - Broken?

I assume almost all of you already have every achievement for HL2 on PC by now. :freeman:

In game, the achievement menu clearly shows 31/31 100%
Hooray, good for me, etc.

HOWEVER

If you head over the the community achievement details, It says 31/33 94%

It appears that in the recent PC port of the 360 achievements, they forgot to code The achievement for ending the game, and the achievement for throwing the can at the CP.

Do you guys think this is the case, or there some other kind of error here? It is not just me, check for yourselves.

The achievements for throwing the can in the garbage bin and at the CP are invisible by default, i think, check it to be sure.

Well you don’t have the secret achievement for throwing the can at the can cop and the end of game achievement hasn’t registered.

Me and my friends have deliberately tried to get both achievements, but we can get neither. PC doesn’t have secret achieves like xbox, we get to know what ours are in advance.

I am going to try again, because there was a minor update yesterday that might have solved it.

Problem solved guys.
It seems that loading the map manually rather than using the new game thing makes it ignore achieves.
I loaded the can map manually to get defiant, and I loaded the last make manually becasue i couldnt be bothered with the massive ride on the citadel pod XD

Not sure about my mates though, i will have to ask them.

It’s completely buggy for me, I still have unlocked achievements for things I HAD to do in order to get to where I am now, and the achievement just doesn’t say I already did it. But I don’t really care!

The map loading commands are probably considered a type of cheat, and cheats disable achievements, so yeah, that could cause it.

I had same thing. When i started Half-Life 2, it shown, that i can unlock only 28 achievements. Now i have almost all, even that “invisible”.

You can see all achievements in the steam community, even the hidden ones.

I thought around about now would be a good time to say I have 33/33, 13/13 and 22/22 :slight_smile: . Is it really that sad? :frowning: (steam account = yumpum)

I have every achievment for HL2 and the episodes AS WELL as L4D1 and 2. I also have 324 TF2 achievments.

I threw the can at the cop (achievement showed in the corner), then he ran over and hit me and THEN I threw the can in the garbage (then the other one showed up in the corner). But only one shows up as being achieved.

Same with Portal - it still says I haven’t gotten the Heartbreaker one… even though I’ve got the radio one and went through start to finish several times already.

You have to replay that part to get the other achievement.
