What if in HL1 you could hear Bohemian Rhapsody, or some other rock’n roll. Maybe some Bon Jovi? The thought of rock in HL1 makes me go like
YEAH! And I always thought it could use more Creed! :hmph:
Unless your computer is from 1998, you should be able to run HL and winamp or some other mp3 player with low cpu overhead. So you can listen to all your favorite artists from the 80’s, 90’s, and today. I imagine you can lip-synch and pantomime the songs as well. Hope that helps.
I just loop “I Wanna be a Rockstar” by Nickelback whenever I play.
The WON version of HL plays music off an audio CD at the different parts of the game where there is music, normally it plays the tracks off the game disc at the right parts, but if you put in your own, it plays your own music!
Actually that works with the steam version too, just not the source version.
Can someone give me some sort of half-assed reasoning as to why this kid’s one suggestion deserved its own thread instead of being posted in the ‘daydream’ or ‘suggestion’ thread?
No.
Most certainly not.
Rock’n’roll is srs bsns.
I play thrash metal while playing HLDM. But to answer your question - not really.
Techno-Ambient Soft Rock fits Half Life a lot better than Death-Metal – sorry.
I listen to Mozart when I play. And if im feeling especially frisky, I may even throw in a little Tchaikovsky.
I actually load the mp3s from Half Life and listen to them, while doing other stuff. Yes, screaming scientists, zombines, overwatch voice and so on. Why should I ruin the magic of the game by playing something else. Of course, I can’t play CS without Death or Black metal involved But this is a different story.
People don’t seem to grasp the concept of atmosphere and theme unfortunately. As many other things do, everything in half life, including the music, contributes to the overall theme of the game and feeling the developers were trying to portray.
Unless a game doesn’t have a soundtrack, or doesn’t have a good soundtrack, there is no reason to blast other music during the game.
You can replace the music files with music from your MP. You just have to find the files, rename your music to the same name as the sound file than place it in there. At least assuming you can easily find the music files.
Fuck music. I listen to loud audio recordings of people clapping in a football stadium when I play Half-Life.
I listen to children screaming while I play Half-Life 2.
It calms the nerves…
Fuck game sound. I turn it off and make all the sounds with my own mouth while playing a game
