H.E.V. "Fanclub"

In my opinion, the HEV suit is awesome. It has everything from a Geiger counter to hardened power armor. This topic is for discussion of the Mark IV and Mark V series HEV suits, and anything relating to them. Here’s a few things I’ve been wondering:

 • The other HEV suit wearing scientists you encounter are all wearing an attached helmet. Does Gordon’s suit function the same without it, and how does he survive all the radiation, heat, etc, without it?
 • How would “Power Armor” work? How can an electric charge possible defend from bullets?
 • How does the suit track weapons and their ammo?
 • How does the suit administer morphine and antidotes?

:fffuuu:

Magic.

Crysis suit anyone?

We are here in Half-Life Series / H.E.V. “Fanclub”
So talk about the HALF-LIFE suit…

I wouldn’t be surprised if they drew some of their ideas from Half-Life’s HEV suit, but then again, a super powered suit isn’t really that uncommon of an idea.

Half-Life is a video game from the nineties. A very goofy video game from the nineties about the future.

To answer all of the questions, it’s a suit from a video game from the nineties.

Actually, it is now technically set in the past. :stuck_out_tongue:

I don’t find it that goofy. But even then, if you want to get technical, there’s HL2. It’s not goofy. It seems a lot more serious. The Mark V is even MORE high tech.

The HEV suit in HL2 is the same as the HEV suit in HL1, except for the fact that the HL2 HEV suit uses combine power stations.

It has also been redesigned for comfort and utility.

It also uses the same power source for sprint, flashlight, and oxygen.

And it’s orange :retard:

In Episode Two, the HEV suit has two different sources for the flashlight battery and the oxygen/sprint meter. Remember when Alyx tells you in Episode One that Kleiner needs to create a longer flashlight battery? That’s what Valve does in Episode Two.

Thanks, bob.

But in Hl2 and Hl2 Ep1, they do use the same power source. Two against one, my vote wins.

I believe you could consider Ep.2 to be a retcon. Except for a very minor detail that NO ONE IN THEIR RIGHT MINDS SHOULD BE ARGUING ABOUT!

Right-mindedness is relative.

Hi mom!

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
