I am going to be building a pc. I’m debating on whether to get an Amd 6870, or Gtx 560. I’ll be playing at a resolution of 1440x900. Which one should i get?
What CPU are you using, and what Motherboard?
If you’ll be selecting based on the GPU, go with nVidia.
An intel nvidia couple is your best bet, if more expensive.
Also your games will run at incredibly ridiculous speeds with either card at that resolution.
Yeah if your going to go that route with your graphics card you might as well do yourself a favor and get a better monitor.
Anyways go the 560
Those cards are at two different price points… the GTX 560 is $50 more expensive than the slightly slower-performing 6870. For your resolution, even the 6850 would be overkill in all games (you could even play Crysis 1 maxed out at that resolution with that card at respectable framerates).
Invest in a better monitor, then get the Radeon HD 6950. Those are my suggestions.
Kinda what russ said, I like AMD, so I’ll say that, but I’ll also say you need a better monitor

Get a monitor that’s at least 1680x1050, it will look great with MSAA x4
I like AMD more too, I have rule that if it’s intel, add about 200 $ to the price instantly.
get a 6950 and turn it into a 6970.
I prefer ATI/AMD, the 6850 I have is obscenely more power efficient than it’s Nvidia counterpart
