well yea my card/driver restarts when i play games, such as tf2, css. those are about 10 min between each time and in burnout paradise its every second so its realy ******* annoying so … umm yea what could be the problem? (I have tried to update drivers)[/SIZE]
…
You know, it might help if you told us the model of your card, and some specs of your computer…
and what exactly “restarts”
I had the same problem. I installed the right driver of my vga card. The cd that comes with the vga card when you by a new one.
How does this guy think we can help him without even saying any information at all? -.-
Hi, I have a problem with my graphic card. Help me.
hai guize so pc shuts down every time wehn play games wut to do???
Clean your fucking computer, especially the heatsink on the GPU.
If that doesn’t help, change the clock speed 50mhz lower, if that doesn’t help put it back and take off 50mhz off the RAM.
If that doesn’t help, get a new GPU!
ops sorry
nvidia geforce gtx 260m
intel core 2 quad q9000 2.0 ghz
4gb of ram (dont know waht type)
i have an laptop and by resarting i mean the screen shuts completly off then back on in black and i can continue to play the game so its not the computer that restarts
turn off sleep/screensaver/powersaving?
they are off
The first thing I would to if I had problems with my graphics card would be to reinstall/update the drivers. Just sayin’…
First off try updating your drivers officially: Here
If that does not work then try unofficial drivers: Here
I had a similar problem with my acer laptops ati x700 card not working well with the official drivers and ended up using the one from omegadrivers. Fixed all my problems.
that omega thing doesn’t work with windows 7 (atm) that i forgot to say that was my os
On your computer:
click Start, click Run, type dxdiag in the Open box, and then click OK.
And see if it show’s up any problems…
the Nvidia OpenGL driver lost connection with the display driver and is unable to continue. the application must close error code 8
that was an error that popped up when i started the 64 bit verson (i have 64 bit os)
but didn’t find any problems
EDIT: turns out that it was reltated to adobe photoshop CS5 (the error not the problem)
I think your card is at fault, is it new or still under Warranty?..
Edit: I can’t keep up with your edits bro…
I had the same problem a while back with my gtx 275 initially. It was overheating because I didn’t have a profile for fan speeds to automatically adjust according to temperature when I bought it. Now there are no problems.
Download a driver (I recommend from nvidia) that lets you control fan speeds.
well i downloaded speedfan but it didn’t show any fans so i guess my card doesn’t have one but, if heat was a problem shouldn’t that also show preformance wise?
I can almost be positive you installed the incorrect drivers.
If you’re one of those cool kids who tried to play with that 3d-shit technology (Which you might be) Revert to the old driver, or update the driver.
If that’s not the case.
Open up your lappy, and clean it out, because i can bet you’re a dirty pig.
Oh, and retard, your laptop does have a fan.
