Dumb suggestion: Could it be a dead cable (vga, dvi, or hdmi, whatever you’re using) ?

Going along with the cable suggestion… make sure none of the pins are bent on either end of the cable. I had a friend once who had that issue. How it got bent, no idea.

Let us know if your issue is fixed and what you have done for trouble shooting so far so we know what not to suggest.

Had the same kind of problem with an Hdmi connector last year on my old monitor which turned out to be a dud and had to be rma’d maybe that’s the issue?

#1 check you’ve plugged all nessesary plugs into the video card (the mobo needs seperate power for pci-express, so make sure you;ve got that plugged in too.)
#2 check if your powersupply has enough juice (post your powersupply model and specs here)
#3 Re-Seat your video card
#4 check if your bios is posting (does it beep once when you turn it on? or does it beep more than once?)

if none of that is the problem, RMA it cos it’ll be a dud.

Check your monitors settings, make sure the brightness is set, and also autoadjust after having turned it on, when there would be text on the screen.

Make sure you wear some anti-static kit if ever handling it, static can kill curcuit boards.

any luck yet?

I second the suggestion to turn on the monitor.

I would algo guess it’s the power-supply if all connections are made properly. :3

If the monitor appears to be on, but the light is orange, turn the monitor off and on again, I’ve had at least 2 cases where the monitor VGA input crashes and doesn’t respond for no reason.

Try disconnecting everything from the computer (Or just power, if you can do it without moving the tower onto it’s side), taking the card out, cleaning the slot, and the connector, and putting it back in and reconnecting everything.
I did this not even half an hour ago and it made my computer work after not having worked all day. (Ironically, after I cleaned the computer to make the card run a bit cooler)
