Grand Theft Auto 5

ditto.

Fuck yeah, agree.

I agree, if you’ve got the models and animations lying around why not use them?

Because they’ve already been used, and only meanies recycle content?

You payed for the models/animations when you got Max Payne 3, and if they actually did recycle them, then you should be getting GTaV for 5 bucks off

Fuck you, those MP3 animations are already close to perfection. If GTA5 recycled those I would not feel robbed and if they even further improved on them, then that would be just gravy.

further improvement would of course negate the crap I just said

Ah, you know what, I mostly meant the rapid and precise character control of MP3, since both GTA4 and RDR’s characters felt a little sluggish and not too precise in certain situations.

It’s not like movies don’t recycle props. Honestly I’m content with the last few years of graphics power. I don’t need much more polyes or smoother animations and stuff. I’d rather have more diversity of weapons but less polish on each weapon than a few really polished ones in the case of GTA.

I just want smooth FPS on PC.

GTA IV on my HD6850 Overclocked to 925mhz still gets 20-45 FPS, on any resolution from 1440x900 to 5040x1050.

That’s weird because I get 45-60 FPS on 1920x1200 with a default 5870. And this is with RealizmIV.

It would be really nice to have it optimized like a normal game though. I suppose we’ll see how well Rockstar can optimize with Max Payne 3. I’d imagine that if that game runs well then GTAV will as well.

Mildly off-topic, but have you seen the latest Development and Technology video yet, Max?

Fucking drool.

oh you better believe i have. multiple times in fact.

I already love Euphoria in free play mode in GTAIV but if a lot of the mechanics are carried over from Max Payne 3 into GTAV’s free play environment, it’s going to be incredible. I already love that the persistent wounds are being carried over to both games from RDR. I can’t really see there being very many large flaws in these games if they’re optimized well. Even if they’re not the games themselves are going to be amazing. And really, I would rather have an amazing game that is not optimized all that well to a mediocre game that runs at 150+ FPS on all systems. It would be nice to have both though :3 .

I also agree with Max Payne’s movement looking much more intuitive than GTAIV’s and hope that it’s used in GTAV.

I believe Rockstar is smart enough to know that they would benefit the most from implementing technology from MP3 to GTAV.

perhaps it’s something other than the 3d accelerator

That’s because GTA IV doesn’t want shit from your gpu except for excessive ram. The game eats up on cpu power so a better gpu won’t make much difference.

Yeah the 5870 is generally considered to be faster than a 6850, plus my CPU is only two cores @ 3.00Ghz with 4GB DDR2. :stuck_out_tongue:

Most other games don’t ever pass 80% in task manager, GTA comfortably sits at 100%.

Yeah, your CPU is probably more of a problem than your graphics card.

What happens when Max gets shot?

He loses health and eventually dies, that’s my guess.
