Well of course it’ll be in there. Just don’t expect it to be Dr. Kleiner.
This is getting off of the topic you guy are on currently… but am I the only one that thinks Surface Tension was insanely hard to complete all thanks to the insane military AI.
I’m not saying the AI is bad(it’s great actually). However, I died at least 10 or more times play on Easy. So would it be possible to make a “Very Easy” difficulty?
No. You man up. That’s how you beat the game.
Why the hell did you die 10 times on easy? :brow: That’s impossible.
Dunno. I dont do very well at running to cover, away from a grenade that got hurled at my face. And the soldiers took to long to shoot at, so when they all grouped around me when I was hiding behind the sandbags, I failed miserably. I had to quicksave so many times. I haven’t been playing games like Half-Life in a long time, so revisiting the game was hard. Considering how the SMG in Half-Life 2 didn’t kick like a mule.
I would try sucking less.
To answer your question: No Black Mesa will not take into account player incompetence.
aw heck then. I am a doomed player then.
Me too.
I should play hl again and see if surface tension is as difficult as it was when I first played. I wonder if I got better.
I think the difficulty levels in HL were fine (never played on easy though)
HL2 on other hand was way too easy on hard difficulty (never played on easy or medium, so don’t know about those)
I hope BM will have 1 very tough difficulty setting, otherwise replaying it wouldn’t offer any challenge at all. Like HL2. Thank god for cl_drawhud 0
I humbly accept your anti-crosshairs challenge!
My god, I don’t know how you manage to be so good that HL difficulties were fine, because hard is just ridiculous to me. The soldiers were as strong as gunships and striders damage wise. That’s a bit much if you ask me.
Playing through the game multiple times unfortunately makes you learn all the tough parts by heart. Pity.
Hard is hard, it’s not ridiculously hard
If things are too easy/hard just edit skill config.
The only time this is really difficult is with the crossbow. I generally play without the hud, for enhanced realism.
The magnum is also equally useless. Although I must admit I barely ever used it even with the hud. Am I the only one who thinks it’s got a 1 milisecond delay on the trigger? I can’t hit shit with it, if said shit is in motion.
So, to make this rambling of mine on topic, I suggest the magnum in BM has no such imaginary delay.
Magnum was not difficult for me because the rate of fire was high enough to still kill something quickly, even if your first round misses. Plus it fires bullets, not a slow piece of rebar like the crossbow.
Sniping without crosshairs, while using a slow projectile over long distances with a slow reload speed, is difficult. Your first shot had better hit.
BTW, i believe the forced magnum delay may be attributed to the high degree of recoil.
i never experienced any delay with the magnum
