Did you at least leave all the encounters in? Please tell me you just cut down on empty tunnels…
This statement is frightening a little bit but you guys know what you’re doing right ?
I actually liked OAR after the first few playthroughs. It’s a nice change of pace from walking…
I liked either, it was one of those too many levels where you, grunts and xenians are fighting each other in close quarters battle and relax a bit with the tram, see some “concrete countryside”.
So, that horrible part at the beginning is shorter or simplified?
And you take use of it for blood wounds on dead bodies?
I ditch the tram after the electrified water. You can move through the levels faster without it.
:fffuuu:
[COLOR=’#212121’]Oh, this stuff just got real, son.
Really, people are bothered by that? Portal is a great example of that formula: sometimes short is better. And a shortened OAR chapter is certainly better.
I think the long tunnels in ‘On Rail’ gave a sense of how big the underground facility is. How would this sense of magnitude be kept if bits were chopped off?
I dont know what to expect as far as the design initiatives the team took, but I’ll bet they took the above into account!
I liked On A Rail :[
I liked all of HL. I only hope that the extra offices, labs and huge dam make up for OAR.
Am I the only person on this forum who didn’t like On A Rail?
I mean, it was seriously the worst part of the game for me.
Maybe I missed something, maybe it was personal preference, but it was just WAY too long.
I do think that On A Rail was my least favorite part of the game. It took forever and I always forget what I’m supposed to do :retard: .
I didn’t really like On a Rail much either. Thank you for chopping it down to size.
On A Rail did have some really long empty tunnels, but at least there was plenty of action in between.
Residue processing takes the cake as my most hated chapter. Such a stupid facility, with doors leading to nowhere, areas that can only be accessed through a waste shaft and some boring yet very dangerous puzzles.
Yeah, it really did make little sense.
thankyou, i’m also not the only one who doesn’t like on a rail
To be honest, OAR was also my least favorite. So I trust in the developers that they have used their artistic licenses for the best in this level as well.
You know, I may be in the minority here, but I thought On a Rail was actually pretty good. Confusing in parts, yes, but overall pretty memorable, and it set a really good tone.
