Got a Quick Suggestion? - Small suggestions that don't need their own thread

Yes, and because he didn’t change the voice he used from one game to the other, it can easily be attributed to Kleiner alone.

If that’s your reasoning then lets have Kleiner say EVERY SINGLE line any scientist said in HL1.

That would be feature creep (and I know you’re being sarcastic).

well thanks for telling me cause I didn’t

A scientist named Simon and his pet head crab Garfunkle… it could happen.

How about an iron sight view, for the Glock, Magnum and SMG’s
It could improve accuracy and slow you down at the same time, for example on the SMG the bow area on the top of the SMG could house a red dot or holographic sight, just an idea and if it is already being used then great, if not I would definitely like it to be implemented

NO IRON SIGHTS.

Read the FAQ. There will be no iron sights.

Aaah, Keresh!

His title is very accurate. Watch out for him.

BRILLIANT. It’s like 50 easter eggs in one.

sorry, I didn’t know, my internet is spazzed and i cant see the FAQ or the media pages:[

Here ya go.

One suggestion:

I would like to see scripted behavior of human NPCs in a few situations to make the whole game more cinematic:

Marines and guards could take use of scripted combat-like tactics as leaning against walls, if there are enemies in the next room/corridor and charge out to surprise the enemy.
Following guards could run ahead to edges and wait there until the player enters the next passage (especially if there are hazards which can only be destroyed or defeated by Freeman).

(Barney in the first scene)

Great would also be scripted scenes, where soldiers are breaking through a door and something like that.

Just a minor thought: Maybe a random desk could contain a picture frame or magazine with a picture of Cryptosporidium, either the game character, or to be slightly more obscure the actual parasite, as a nod to the game Destroy All Humans!

I mention this as the game has a mind scanning ability, and if you use it on the many scientists you find throughout the game, some of them often mentally blurt out the following quote (to be read in a rather poor german accent):

Cryptosporidium parasite: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptosporidium#General_characteristics_of_Cryptosporidium

Crypto himself: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Destroy_All_Humans!_characters#Cryptosporidium

Just a thought…

Congratulations, you’ve just ensured that Cryptosporidium won’t be featured.

Hey, Destroy All Humans referenced Half Life for a comedic touch! Let’s reference Destroy All Humans in a mod recreating Half Life in recognition of that!

It’d be cool to see another breaching charge sequence like the combine use in the HL2 episodes, (Perhaps in WGH) but maybe with an alteration.
The door/wall is blown suddenly as the player approaches, without a warning “beep” preceding detonation. then a cloud of dust/smoke fills the room and the silhouettes of HECU pour in and open fire–
For the dramatic/cinematic edge, and to put a quick jolt through the player. catching them off guard.

I don’t know, whether this is a stupid suggestion or not, but I read that name badges are removed from the character models now.

But maybe it would make sense, if at least important characters as Kleiner and Eli would have them, so that it would be easier for gamers who are non-insiders to the game series to get to know who they are by reading their names on their ID cards.

I doubt you would be able to read the names on the tags anyway. Eli and Kleiner models will look similar to the ones in hl2 so anyone who played hl2 will know exactly who they are. If they never played a half-life game then it won’t matter to them.

It wouldn’t make sense that some scientists had tags and some didn’t.
