They could carry them in their pockets. Besides, you only need them to get through Security Checkpoints, and the fact that everyone seems to know each other within their own sector means you’ll only need it if you venture to another sector where the Security Officers may not recognize you.
Why carry an ID tag when you got retinal scan for security checkpoint?
Backup.
for the same reason people have ID tags in other government facilities.
Like I said, if you need to go into another sector, you would need it to show the Security Guards before they use the Retinal Scanners to let you through.
Someguy has a point–devs could always look at Dr. Magnusson’s nametag he has in Episode 2, it may be the same one from black mesa, and model after it.
And hey, the names on the nametags could be the names of the developers. That would be awesome, eh?
Also, I know the FAQ mentioned Magnusson is not going to be in BM, but that room in anomalous materials, the small cafeteria, where Gordon is able to blow up a microwave casserole by overheating it. In Episode 2, we learn THAT scientist who cried out, “My God, what are you doing?” IS Magnusson, fellas. Why isn’t he going to be in the mod for that one scene?
Is it because it’s for one scene?
It isn’t him, that scientist was Black.
I was told in an email that Magnusson probably stepped out, leaving the Black Scientist to watch his casserole until he got back. (note the use of “probably”, as they do not want to confirm anything in case they decide to contradict what was said in a later game)
Because nowhere in Episode Two does it specify that the incident in question was the same as the one on the day of the resonance cascade. The player is not required to blow up the casserole, and the player is Gordon, so there is a possibility that Gordon did not meet Magnusson in that room and/or blow up his casserole on that day. Alternatively, let’s assume it was his casserole on the day of the resonance cascade. Just because it was Magnusson’s casserole doesn’t mean that Magnusson was in the room at the time. For all we know he might be the guy in the bathroom. Now if the devs put him into that room they run a risk. What if in Episode Three valve says that at the time of the resonance cascade that Magnusson was somewhere else? That creates a plot hole, where as leaving him out does not. Basically the devs are covering their backs just in case something like that happens.
EDIT: :ninja:
Smart devs.
Thank you for answering my question without insulting me or using a facepalm emote, Mario.
He looks just as old in the nametag as he does in EP2 if that’s what you’re saying.
why do people add "Edit: :ninja: " to the end of there posts?
effectively, they got ninjad
EDIT: Damn, ninjad by only a few hours!
Yeah, not to mention it says “White Forest,” on it.
He isn’t because he isn’t.
It’s been confirmed by Marc Laidlaw, (The writer of the Half-Life series,) that that is in fact not Magnusson in the break room at the time.
I’ve always thought that Magnusson was the “Why do we all have to wear these ridiculous ties?” scientist in the locker room.
On topic: Would you please post the media that you’ve posted on FPSBanana here too?
Black Mesa has media on FPS Banana? I think you may have been misled.
We don’t post media to FPSBanana, FPSBanana and their users post our media to FPSBanana.
Anything you see there can be found through here, most likely. Check the wiki, or our 404, or our developer websites, etc.
If you’re in the need for more media, I suggest you check out Carlos’ latest uploads to the wiki. He’s added a bunch of player collectables (such as the Battery, a Glock clip and the Crossbow bolts, for example).
i would like to see bigger explosions and more in depth conversations about ties ,cheese, upper management, and tons of dialog reminding Gordan that he is late.
