Got a Quick Suggestion? - Small suggestions that don't need their own thread

:hmph:

Maybe headcrabs could be found fiddling with their…teeth…as if to say, “Aww, man, I got something stuck in my teeth!”…something like that I guess.

Also, I think that holding down the trigger button when you have no ammo in the clip/magazine/etc. and/or no reserve ammo, Gordon shouldn’t reload until you let go of the mouse button. And that scientists should still think the gun’s loaded when it’s not (be afraid when the gun is unloaded), like in HL1. Could make for funny results. And don’t forget the scientist dance!

^ I like the ammo one.

I loved the fact that, if you held down the fire button on the AR2, it would become increasingly less accurate. As far as I know this didn’t happen with the SMG, supposedly because they wanted to differentiate between the two and highlight the AR2’s power. It would be brilliant if the MP5 could do the same.

I always imagined it would be like it was in the original game, with a fairly inaccurate fire rate similar to the MP7. In fact I always viewed the SMG as the MP5 for HL2.

I don’t know, I always felt that the SMG in HL2 was a terrible gun in terms of the simplicity of it. It was just a point and shoot one that didn’t have much use. If the enemy was too far away, there was no way to make it more accurate and the bullets would spray everywhere and not hit it. Up close the bullets were so damn weak that it was virtually useless against anything but a slow zombie. I’m not saying that the MP5 that BM will use will be like this, but the simple logistics of it made it such a terrible weapon.

The AR2 felt like a real gun in that you had to shoot in bursts of 3 if you were to be accurate with it. It also had an excellent range which I felt was far more realistic as a submachine gun than the one given to you in HL2.

Very perceptive. I am a U.S. Marine. Hence the banter.

Ahh, see if I had read it (like everyone here reminds all the others that ask stupid questions) I suppose I would have known that already. Thank you.

EDIT - Go figure… cant read it at work. Damn thing is blocked. This forum isnt – but the FAQ is – odd…

That’s right, the SMG in HL2 was too weak and inaccurate. Only the grenade launcher was really usefull. The MP5 should be like the AR2 in term of range and accuracy, which is more close to HL1 MP5 than the MP7. But I’m confident the dev’s brougth us a marvellous SMG to play with.

That’s odd, the faq is just a forum post. Albeit a really important one.

Blocked pages are probably due to signature images or avatars hosted on ugly sites, or these damn banners for dating sites.

Try going in your User CP, disable sigs and avatars, and try again.
With some luck it could work :o

Unless he means this FAQ?

Soldiers don’t banter with eachother, they get along and give each other hugs. They also hold hands, skip, and whistle tunes from the Wizard of Oz.

Just get the Sven Co-op team to get off their lazy asses and finish Sven Co-op Source, and let them use the maps.

I love how he says Ram what to do.

A lot of people on here seem to forget that they’re not in charge of the mod.

Can I please request a player friendly turret in the mod?
It doesn’t have to be a brand new model, one that is already featured in the game would be fine. And I would guess the progress of Black Mesa is too far gone to introduce a player allied turret into the story line, but if you you could include one that we can simply spawn with a console command that would be great! It’s something I’ve always wanted to have/use. Please, thank you.

Huge machine guns stands and a tank cannon to control isn’t enough for you?

Not so! Instead of Gordon and Alyx venturing around the vast European countryside, Black Mesa will feature Gordon and Albert, the friendly auto turret! These two friends must journey together through the ruined research facility to find a way to stop the alien invasion. Can man and machine truly get along? Does Albert’s friendship with Gordon mean more than a few lines of enemy recognition code? Will Gordon ever discover an ammo cache to keep Albert’s weapon firing for the whole adventure? Only by playing this groudbreaking mod will you find out!

The turrets are automated. Meaning that with todays technology they’d probably see everyone as hostile.

I tried to test this in Half Life, but the turrets aren’t programed to attack certain NPC’s, so it’s hard to say canon wise, whether or not the turrets can distinguish targets.

LMAO!I agree with this completely!
