Got a Quick Suggestion? - Small suggestions that don't need their own thread

If we start getting into that we’re going to end up recommending replacing the entire suit with a six foot high lead cylinder Gordon wears to do his work in.

And 1% people doing it.

Fine, the whole matter is dead.
Just please say you’re making the gloves more interesting and tell me how I stop being a cockroach. I don’t know anymore.

Ooooh, new idea. A part I really liked in Uplink (The mod) is when you run across a headcrabbed scientist that isn’t quite a zombie. He starts muttering stuff, like “I can’t see anything” and “H-help”.
It’s particularly sad and would make a good addition. You can just record a little dialouge for the one scientist you find in the hallway after your first two zombies. it would add to the atmosphere.

The cockroach thing is to do with your post count, but they might have been frozen (not sure).

I haven’t played Uplink, but I have to admit that that scene does sound cool.

good points. I didnt mean really dirty, just a little grubby. Vinyl floors after a few years to start to look shabby. I know it sounds unimportant but i think it would make it look more realistic. also there would be boot marks too. especially the parts where the military are involved.

I’m pretty sure the gloves are final, and just as in the original game, I very much doubt that it’ll stop you enjoying the game just because the suit has rubber gloves.

And as Soup says, they user title is linked to post count. The post counts don’t show up on posts but they are not frozen, except in the Off-Topic forum.

While Playing ‘On a rail’ I realized that a lot of grunts have empty mp5’s in their death grips, at least, I assume they’re supposed to be empty, since you can’t pick them up.
So, are the devs/have the devs made a version of the w_9mmAR model without the clip for use as a prop_physics near dead grunts? If you have a normal mp5 near all the dead grunts, there’s too much ammo, if the mp5 is gone, it looks weird.
It’s probably too late, but I’m sure that would help immersion.

I’m going to bet that this has been asked before but i couldn’t find it.

Will the NPCs like the scientes be killable?
I hope so because using impulse 101 and killing then in the begging of the game was fun.

Yep, scientists are killable.

The gun will lower automatically when you face them like in HL2 for those moments you’re not interested in slaughtering innocents, but you’ll still be able to shoot your weapon which will recall the weapon to view.

It’s the attention to detail on things like that which will make Black Mesa fun to play

A small suggestion for the website: Change the name of the “Things you may want to know about the mod” thread to “[COLOR=‘Red’]Things you MUST know about the mod”.
(The thread is locked so I couldn’t put the suggestion there)

The Security Guard guarding that door for the Scientist in Lambda Core should be more heavily armed. Maybe even manning an M2 HMG, pointing it down the hall, watching for Hostiles.

And the Scientist that lets you in should close the door, then head back to the others. He says he was sent down to let you in, so once your in, why does he stay there?

No new weapons in BM, even if they are not usable by the player

a multiplayer suggestiON: please make cooked grenades explode after the player has died

Uhh:

It’s not new. It’s been their since Half-Life.

These were brought in by the military, so he would have needed to find it first…

Don’t they have a huge weapon/ammo cache there anyway?

Maybe Barney could have found it and dragged up to help protect the scientists from being attacked.

I mean, it sure beats having just a pistol in the Aliens or the Marines find you.

M2’s aren’t exactly feasible to drag around, from what I’ve read.

An M2 with a tripod is around 130 lb. (57 kg.), and I’m almost positive that you bolt down the tripod to keep it from moving when you fire it.

Ha, didn’t think about that one. And it even was useable! I stand corrected

The security guards also perform maintenance. So they probably have some muscle on them, I’m sure he could drag it over there. I could probably drag that around, and maybe lift it to go up stairs, not far, but I could. As for bolting it down, he probably has access to a power drill and bolts.

My other suggestion was going to be a Milkor MGL, but I didn’t post because I remembered no-new-weapons. Maybe an MP5/M4 with a grenade launcher?
