…Strafing? Are you seriously suggesting they get rid of strafing?
I call troll. :mono:

srsly?! get rid of Strafing?! how the hell will we outmaneuver the Hgrunts?! damn trolling noobs…
Only for people who like dying alot in video games. Wait I get it, thats too complicated for you huh? Maybe they should also make it so you can’t jump or duck too and keep everything on the same level, more like Wolfenstien 3D, right? Or even less complicated make the game one long straight hallway so that you don’t have to worry about turning corners and the fact that you can’t strafe won’t be an issue. That way it will be simple enough for you.
JAVID IS BACK!!!
Yeah, strafing has become a FPS standard along with jumping.
Yeah been kinda lurkin for a while. Are we allowed to report people for being retarded?
No, the mods are doing a fine job by themselves.
let’s wait 'till he does it again, as the expression goes; “third time’s the Charm” amiright?
Well, I for one like the viewtilting. It adds more realism to the movement system (which of course was the desired effect).
Although it gets horribly out of control when you do fun things in vehicles, such as a backflip in the airboat of the Dam in HL2.
Yeah I was thinking that it was gonna finally flip over on me cause I kept having trouble trying to make that jump in the boat. But then I realized it always rights itself.
Viewtilt ftw.
That shit was awesome in HL.
The HEV Suit Arms & Hands look a little bulky and un-detailed… Like make the arm less bulky add a black rim at the end of it, put a wrist guard etc.
Crappy example I did of more like what I want V
No fool, not get rid of strafing. I’m suggesting they get rid of how to lean to the side when you strafe, like in Quake.
Yes, thank you.
Would it be possible for the viewtilt to be optional?
Don’t triple post.
Also, why would they just change what the HEV suit looked like because you think it looks good?
Hi everyone. I’m new here and I’ve just seen the trailer which I think is absolutely amazing! (I bet that sounded too typical for you guys considering the fact that some of you have been browsing these forums for years and have come to accept such typical newbie-ish-ness).
Well anyway, after playing all of the HL games and a bunch of other source-based titles, I’ve come to realise that the fps camera mode is getting a little “dry” in Black Mesa Source. So why not add free view? I’m quite sure it would create more of an immersive feeling into the HL world-- in the sense that the player would actually “feel” as though he’s controlling freeman rather than just seeing through his eyes. Personally, I think most FPS’s pay more attention to graphics and gameplay, which is fine, but miss the finer details which is easily as important. When I say “finer” details, I mean stuff like the camera shaking when an explosion goes off, awesome weapon reloads, realistic moving hands and arms etc. Of course we’re talking about the Source engine here, there are limitations, I know that… but you get where I’m coming from?? that may sound like rubbish but hey, its only a suggestion
by the way, I hope your still awake
If you’re going to be vague enough to make me and two other people think you mean strafing, then don’t call me a fool. :meh:
Uh… why are you interested in BM if you don’t like first person shooters? What you just did… it’d be like if someone was making a mod for madden(I don’t know why anyone would but lets just use it as an example) and I suggested they turn it in to a FPS. Thats how ricockulous what you just said was.
I’m sure they will redesign the game just to suit your liking.
The lean is an interesting debate. It was in the first Half-Life, and this is a remake of Half-Life. It should be in the game. You lean when you run fast.
However, since the normal run speed in BM is the hl2 run speed (more like a quick walk / light jog), and the sprint is equal to the hl1 run speed, why not make it lean only when sprinting?
Adding things to a model =/= Redesigning the mod.
They aren’t going to redo things because you want them to.
To be fair, he is posting a suggesting in the suggestion thread in the suggestion forum. Cut him a little slack.
Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
