Odd. The airsoft pic doesn’t load on this page but when I tried to find out why, it seems to load properly elsewhere. Weird browser…
Well just loo9k at the other two pictures, and imagine the end of the barrel from the BM one above the M203 from the other pic, instead of the suppressor. The entire smooth length of the M203 (and maybe even a bit of the ridged part) would stick out into the air beyond the barrel, looking dumb.
I’ve got the same thing! What browser do you use? I use chrome.
EDIT: I’ve just checked - the same effect is on every browser. The arniesairsoft server must be blocking non-direct requests.
Not sure, as when it did show up, it briefly said cannot display the image as it contains errors, then showed it anyway, but not inline. I’m using Firefox, so when it didn’t show I selected the headings either side and did a view-selection-source, which showed me the image tag, then I clicked the URL in it which tried to open the image in the popup viewSource window, where I saw the above error just before it loaded it anyway…
My guess is the file is borken so FF is not showing it just in case it’s malicious…
IMO it’s not that. This is causes by the server where the picture is stored. When it is inlined by img tag, the browser sends a request for the picture marking it with HTTP referrer param. If you turn if off in the browser, the picture is displayed as it should. When I tried to open the picture directly from the server (right click on the broken image icon and “open in new tab”) it also opened correctly. When i tried to download this forum page, then in place of the picture data I’ve got “403 Forbidden” from the server.
p.s. Sorry for off-topic
I’m not sure if it’s too much, but it would be amazing to incorporate both blueshift and opposingforce into the game’s story line, with either playable characters, or atleast some reference to Adrian and Barney. It helps that you can recycle a lot of the mapped areas from the overall project; It would add even more depth than this project already has.
Oh jeez. I’d put on your best asbestos suit if I were you.
Banned for trolling…infractions do nothing…
This forum should have an option to search in posts for keywords like “Barney” before publishing them and if found display a message: “WARNING! THIS HAS BEEN DISCUSSED THOUSAND OF TIMES! READ FAQ FIRST! ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO SEND THIS POST AND RISK TO BE BANNED?”
Man, the trolling here gets worse everyday.
Preventing posts that contain words like “Shepherd”, “Barney”, “helmet” and “Xen”? Genius!
It’s a small forum suggestion, and probably too little too late, but still a suggestion.
On the subject of forum suggestions, it would be great if the “Locked Thread” icon were differentiated between Locked-Unread-Unposted, Locked-Read-Unposted, and Locked-Unread-Posted… instead of just Locked-Unread and Locked-Read. It gets confusing when the Locked-Unread icon looks so much like the Unlocked-Unread-Posted icon.
Now Hubicorn is not sick, he can finish off the reskin… I believe that is part of what he is fixing.
Reskin? It was already reskinned last month!
Yeah, but not quite finished as he got sick.
Could something more advanced that the Newtonian equation for gravity be written on the whiteboards in Black Mesa? It’s somewhat of a mood killer to be in a secret government facility where teleportation technology is being secretly researched and then to see the scientists struggling with high-school physics.
For instance, some random equations regarding quantum teleportation would be better placed,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_teleportation
Or, since wormholes more closely resemble the portals that appear in Half-Life, a wormhole metric
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wormhole#Metrics
might work as well.
But, really, anything that looks more advanced than high-school physics would be an improvement…
How about a mixture of Quantam teleportation, Wormhole metrics, and meaningless random equations? Make it so advanced, nobody but the NPCs can even see that it’s just a mish-mash of equaitons.
Brace for hangman doodles.
There should, should, be a menu command/console command to disable gibs. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure the gibs are nice, but I like to watch ragdolls fly around after explosions, too.
If not, there’s probably a cvar or something you can edit to turn them off.
I seem to remember someone (probably JamesKane) saying they would add acheckbox in the options to toggle gibbing. I may be completely wrong though.
