Who would turn off gibbing?:fffuuu:
Apart from the German government…
7 year old’s that would get nightmares from it?
You don’t get nightmares from videogames, silly! It’s a proven fact.
Oh I don’t know, I still see tetris blocks in my sleep. Terrifying.
As for toggling gibs, I think it’s not uncommon for certain games to have an option to tone down, or switch off the gore.
No, but I am way too prepared for a portal storm than any normal person should be.
But their aren’t any women that could possibly be raped in that game!
…
Oh.
OH!
O_O
[COLOR=‘Red’]Topic, guys.
Ha-ha. I remember seeing that. Looks God awful.
[whisper]Pssst there are going to be women in Black Mesa.[/whisper] But I’m sure he’s refering to the scene where gordon gets raped by the Gonarch.
Actually, he was referring to the part where you sneak down into the blast pit without killing the monster, and find a female biologist fail in her attempt to sedate the beast. You just didn’t notice this possibility because in the original all the smaller tentacles were obliterated by the heat.
Well, what else do you think they could have used cinematic physics on?
…But I think the gonarch scene also counts, so you’re still right.
That thing was just waggling in Gordon’s face the whole time.
Wait… tentacle rape prawnz?
MR. FRIENDLY YOU FOOLS.
Granted, I wasn’t gonna post because it’s so far in development that I doubt any of this really matters at all but:
What if Security Guards took their ID Cards off their chest and waved them infront of the control panel. Then once they are recognized, the door will open. It can’t be too hard, it’s the same thing Alyx does to open doors, except this would have a calmer animation and lack the blue flash.
That was exactly my view on this thread too.
I just think it’d be funny to see a security guard breaking into a vending machine to get to the treats within, then making a lame ass excuse when the player turns up. Other than that I think the team is capable of coming up with their own awesome content.
They had something like that in Opposing Force. A fat security guard trying to get into a snack machine.
“Mmmm, candy… Stupid machine kicks machine, why don’t these ever seem to work?”
Yeah, I remember that.
In the level “Office Complex” is a scene, where a scientist jumps through a window of an office (near the elevator shaft, where you have to jump to the ladder and climb to reach the next level) by making a roll forwards. But there is currently no visible threat in that office, which forces the scientist to do that. Wouldn’t it make sense to make the zombies in the room behind smashing the wooden door to give this scene more sense?
