So basically just the crosshair moving around a bit when you turn?
I never said that it didn’t exist, just that there is no ingame confirmation about any of the HEV suit’s abilities and technology.
I didn’t notice much crosshair or arm movements in those videos. In fact I’d say that weapons in HL2 shift a lot more when you turn, especially in the case of the SMG.
it’s most noticeable when you look up or down

well there is this video:

I purposely didn’t include it beause the movements too excessive.
So that’s what you mean? That wouldn’t be so bad but it’s still pretty unrealistic and very shitty.
^^Agreed.
I’m not really sure why the arms are moving faster than the eyes, seems to me that you would still be moving your line of sight to look at your target since that would improve accuracy immensely.
If its as bad as that shitty duct tape helmet of yours, then I agree it should’t be implemented into BM.
no seriously, it can’t be that bad can it?
Insulting other users can get you banned.
Plus, it makes you look immature and unable to argue your point.
that was a joke. maybe it just didn’t sound like that

gotta say, that picture speaks a thousand words. Damn, why is it that I’m suddenly starting to feel guilty??
The gaze of Putin brings men to their knees.
Anyways, do you hold a key to free aim or something? Because if it was just whenever you turned your gun would end up pointing way too far over.
The purpose of free-aim is to make you feel as though the player has a body within the universe of the game. Usually fps’s feel like a gun has been copied n pasted to the bottom quarter of the screen. Also, the players arms shouldn’t wave around too much but only slightly. They should be locked to move only a certain distance so even if you were to turn around qucikly, the players arms shouldn’t go too far into that direction.
That’s arm movement isn’t exclusive to free aim. A few games do that, HL2 included.
If you drink too much soda, sugar rush kicks in and Gordon goes into bullet-time mode.
Brief references to Aperture Science.
When you put on the HEV suit, actually show the HUD system loading. Also make it flicker a little when you receive damage.
I can’t be arsed to search (go ahead, sue me), but about the issue if Gordon wears the helmet or not during HL1, I have a theory that maybe the HUD isn’t displayed on the helmet but it’s actually “projected” into the brain, which could be linked to the health system. The suit basically connects with your nervous system.

WTF!?
mods said no, read the faq
already suggested
HL2 does it but its hardly noticeable. It was probably a wow factor back in 2004 but to be honoust it feels cheap now. That’s why modern FPS’s are incorporating free-aim to build on that “arm movement” your talking about.
Can I just ask what’s realistic about free-aim? It’s essentially shooting out of the corner of your eyes. Not many people with common sense do that.
I’m only a noob in the post count!
Anyway, I’m not reading through a 121 page long thread, bro.
And the search feature is almost as useless as Google for really specific stuff.
