Google + has potential in the Circles feature- if you could partition the circles such that only one circle is visible to the people that are in it, you could have a circle of coworkers and a circle of family members and friends that would be completely independent of each other. It’d be like the unholy lovechild of Facebook and Linkedin, only you could switch between circles with the press of a button.

No opinion, haven’t seen it, don’t have invite. Can’t get invite for that matter. And yet i’ve heard that it has over 5mil users. Wtf.
I’m guessing they’re rolling it out Gmail style. Got an invite from a friend, similarly to the latter. It’s pretty nifty.
If anyone wants invites, just send a PM and I’ll send one to you.
For now I feel pretty alone because almost none of my friends have an account yet.

Yep g-mail invite style. I got in on the first wave of invites (using a work around 
). The circles thing is very neat. You can have the normal family/coworkers/friends ones, but say you are working on a project with a few people you can click and drag them into a circle very easy. Also the program is in its infancy. From people poking thru the source code (and from official Google statements) many features are to come.
Also they dont have to be 100% independent. You can place some one in multiple circles. So if you have a co-worker who is also a friend (and you don’t mind posting a picture of Jägerbombs to him) he can receive friend posts as well as things posted into the work related circles.
I think it’s relegated to default circles now: Friends, Family, Acquaintances, and Following. With any luck we’ll be able to make custom Circles too for work or collaboration purposes.
Erm… I can do custom circles just fine. As a matter of fact, I have everyone who has asked me for an invite in a circle called “Black Mesa”.
