Google Chrome tabs not on top?

I’m trying out Google Chrome but what annoys me is that (just like with Opera and Chromium) the tabs are situated at the very top of the screen. I always have Winamp in minimized mode on top of the screen and I’m not changing it so is there any way to have the Chrome tabs situated below the top part?

Like they are with Firefox?

That is one of the major features of chrome, and it is integrated into the program workflow.
^from what I remember about the chrome launch video

I cannot find a way to move then down, and as it stands themes don’t have that type of control over the placement of elements.
A dirty solution would be to place a folder tool bar on the top so when you maximize it doesn’t go all the way to the top of the screen.

I guess it isn’t gonna replace Firefox for me anytime soon :expressionless:

I am a diehard chrome user but I have no idea of what you are talking about. screenshot comparisons please?

oh i c!

Well, it seems chrome is not going to have this anytime soon. A search brought up many that want it, but chrome wont do it cuz it was originally designed as such.

I suppose you could to small window it, resize the browser to include the whole screen save for that one small area at the top.

But that is a work around.

No I’m not doing that, Chrome, Chromium and Opera all have this problem so I’m not gonna use them unless they fix it.

Unfortunately the preliminary Firefox 4 mockups point towards this same trend with Firefox 4, I hope this won’t be the case or I’ll be forced to go back to IE :frowning:

chrome is faster than ie.

So?

I use Winamp 99% of the time on my PC, if a program puts important parts of the GUI where the Winamp bar is I don’t use that program. I choose software that suits my habits not the other way round.

Besides, the upcoming IE9 is already very close to the performance of Firefox/Chrome/Opera, and a few milliseconds in some synthetic benchmark isn’t gonna sway may me either way.

I was interested in using Chrome/Opera as a secondary browser, but as it stands I can’t get over the fact that it doesn’t mesh well with my Winamp usage.

Maybe later they’ll get better I suppose :expressionless:

Thanks for all the suggestions btw.

There are more and more programs and such coming out with features like this. I dont know why some of the conglomerates aren’t getting on the bandwagon.

Opera does not have the tabs all the way at the top, you jive ass fool

You could minimize winamp to the taskbar.

No but the big menu button is.

And I like where Winamp is now, I’m not changing it anytime soon. It’s a shame it doesn’t have the ability to minimize like WMP9/10/11 could, I loved that function :frowning:

For the moment I’m keeping with Firefox, it’s fast, secure and customizable. The fact that other browsers are maybe marginally faster or more secure but lacking in other functions isn’t gonna sway me anytime soon.

you an always choose to dock winamp, so all the ther windows (including chrome) resize to the perfect size everytime.
