I’m looking for a music making program. Something that works like the music making program in All Points Bulletin.
Suggestions? And I’d prefer a good free one, but I might get one that costs. :pirate:
FL Studio is what I use. Quite good.
^ Yep FL studios producer version is pretty okay, specially if you get the proper add-ons, my FL folder is 37GB so it’s full of stuff now…
or just download cubase at any tracker and get the Real stuff going?
Like others said FL Studio is Pretty good, Its one of the best programs to go in and mess around with MIDI files.
Thanks a lot, I’m dling fl studio now.
Lol, I just tried FL studio and I can not make any sense of it, does anyone know a really good beginner’s tutorial?
guitar pro.
FL Studio is complicated to start with. Just mess around and you’ll get the hang of it. That’s what I did.
Guitar Pro is quite good as well.
you cant record with guitar pro, and only the gp6 version has decent sounds, but pretty limited, and you can’t use external vst’s.
so, in short, no.
the point is: you can actually write music with it.
You can write music with FL Studio as well.
and what about something that is free?
you can write music with a pen and a sheet of paper.
the title of the thread is "GOOD MUSIC MAKING PROGRAM’. If you think you can make good sounding music with GP6, get out of here nao.
You could always try Finale, but I guess that depends on how well you know how to read/write music.
Mixcraft is has a free trial that’s VERY easy to crack. REAL easy.
The program ain’t half bad. I haven’t tried to get any plugins into it.
mixcraft is real nice, and plugins work great. BUT, the latest iteration (mixcraft 5) has proven to be really hard to crack.
it aint free, but its Ableton. very good for digital stuff.
lol. Define good then.
Sound more like the OP is interested in a program that does all the work for him with minimal input.
I’m sure you would want Auto tune as well.
Guitar Pro sound like more geared towards Guitar stuff (making guitar tabs). Sure you can write music in it but as said, pen & paper also does that if you have learned notes (the language of music).
Sony also has Acid which lets you put together samples and apply effects to them. It is more like a digital audio workstation though (DAW).
It all depends on your workflow. FL Studio is the program that tries to do everything because it has hundreds of add-ons for every little thing.
Ableton - if your going for eletronica/drum and bass is the first id use, not to mention its un-ending use of VST’s and additions with the software. its fairly user freindly but you will need to train yourself in the use.
I dont understand why people like Qbase, most other softwares make it look like shit on the bottom of your shoe you scrape off. not to mention its ugly/horrible inyourfaceinterface.
