Good Anime

I loved Death Note but for some reason I just couldn’t stand Code Geass. I think it just felt too much like the main character was always wining where in Death Note it wasn’t clear who would turn out on top. My friend told me it got less like that later in the series but meh.

And my favorite animes are Trigun, Fullmetal Alchemist and Death Note  (in no real order).

Star Blazers is an oldie, but a goodie. Matter of fact, it’s the only anime I’ve ever really watched. I watched it on TV back in the 80’s before “anime” was even a well-known term here in the states. I’ve recently went back through and watched as much as I could find on the internet and still thoroughly enjoyed it.

You stopped there? You need to read ahead (well you said the anime…). The anime ends at around chapter 87 and there’s 311 chapters and it’s still going strong.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes.

Google it, watch it.

Man, I can’t stand Code Geass. Attempted to replicate British colonialism with robots and ended up doing a poor job. The only plus side was the constant plotting of the main character.

I agree, it was the first, and will probably be the last anime I ever enjoyed

Avatar =/= anime

The only anime I really sat down and enjoyed was Fullmetal Alchemist, which had a very interesting plot. I tried watching the new Brotherhood version, but it’s not serious enough.

It’s strange, the only anime I like is the serious type, without all the retarded chibi and exaggerated expression shit. Like Death Note. I enjoyed it cause they didn’t break into dance or sweat teardrops every thirty seconds.

I word. BERSERK. Everyone in here describing the perfect anime are pretty much describing Berserk.

Yeah but no.

I would like to know why you don’t think so.

Berserk was… ok. I mean, it was just your classic, I AM BADASS AND HAVE A HUGE SWORD kinda thing. It was nothing special really.

Seto no Hanayome, it is the most funny anime out there.

Did you read the manga or just watch the anime? I guess it does have that but it gets lessened as the story goes along, to the point that he actually suffers consequences for being a badass with a sword. And the consequences get worse later on. He does have a character though so it’s not all “OH, BADASS SWORD MAN RUSHES IN TO FIGHT”. And all the other characters vary a lot as well and are on screen just as much as the main character.

List of shows, with short description.

Love Hina: first anime I ever watched (yay :stuck_out_tongue: ) pretty standard harem-type anime, has some fanservice.
Hellsing: Watch the fucking OVA’s, don’t bother with the anime. Awesome shit with vampires and rape and Nazi-vampires. Oh, and The Vatican, they are pretty awesome too.
Ouran High School Host Club: Hilarious, soap-ey, romantic comedy style. Kind of parodies shoujo and harem.
Cowboy Bebop: Holy fuck do I have to explain this? Awesome storytelling (but not much of a continuing story), awesome style, awesome music, awesome characters. Awesome. A! W! E! S! O! M! E! AWESOME!
Samurai Champloo: See: Cowboy Bebop, but with a central story line.

That’s all I can think of right now.

Oh wait no it’s not.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood: it’s the re-do of the original anime, following the manga closer. Very good animation.

The best anime ever is

Jungle wa itsumo Hare nochi Guu

The entire series is complete bullshit. I’ve laughed myself to tears with that.

By the way: I meant manga, never seen the anime of Berserk.
I got up to some tentacle rape shit just after Griffith became all evil etc.

Watched anime, read some of the manga.

anybody remember Case Closed?

So, am I the only person on this forum that’s read One Piece? I feel so lonely :’( .

Probably… I watch the animu, tho :stuck_out_tongue:

The HL mod?
