Good Anime

Don’t exist.

I don’t see why people have to affirm their “coolness” by posting in this thread that they don’t like anime.

It’s what all the cool kids do.

when i was younger it was one of my favorites. Some one said something about a Phoenix Wright Anime, this is pretty dam close to Phoenix Wright.

good? anime? ahahaha that is highly improbable!

I guess I’ll converse with myself then.

Hey! Did you read the latest One Piece chapter?
Yeah, it was awesome, wasn’t it?
Indeed, I can’t wait until the next one!
Me neither, too bad there’s a one week break.
:frowning:

I never got into One Piece Kairo, or I’d be happy to talk about it with you =(

I’m back!

Anyway, During my ban I watched some more Code Geass but gave up on it pretty quickly. It was really weird. Too weir for my tastes. So I started on Monster. THe first 5 or so episodes are boring as fuck but once people start dying it’s really interesting.

Guess you don’t appreciate a good story :stuck_out_tongue: .

Code Geass just smacked of other animes, all of which were better than it. The whole “anti-hero main character” is ripped straight out of Death Note, the Mechs were ripped out of…somewhere between Evaneglion and Gundam (as soon as they started talking about sync ratios I facepalmed), and the story, well, as people have pointed out, its pretty much just British imperialism with robots.

I’m not denying that some parts of it aren’t engaging, I’m just saying that it rips off a lot of other animes that did it better.

I would have to disagree actually. While yes it does rip those off, I think Code Geass does some of it better. Lelouch had different motives than Light which seemed more rational that in some cases was a lot better than Light. Also, I never liked the Gundams but for some reason thought the Nightmare frames were a lot better done.

Nobody has seen Case Closed? Although it’s a very light hearted non-serious show, it’s still fun to watch. I just started watching the English version and it really is a cross between Sherlock Holmes and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney.

I don’t really care seeing as I haven’t seen the animes it’s ripped off of. XD

I wrote a big long paragraph defending it but I guess there’s no point.

I really only liked Gundam Wing, i think they really did a good job tapping into yur emotions.

Here, just check this video out.

Seemed like a bunch of disjointed hard to understand short scenes to me. But that is probably mostly because I haven’t watched the series. The kids looked like they were 11 or 12 to me. Perhaps they are meant to look that young, but that seems pretty outlandish. Also, I really don’t like that animation style.

And Light and Lelouche are very different. Light is psychotic and values no one’s life but his own. His driving motives are to make himself a god and eliminate crime. He is incapable of sympathy and love. Lelouche’s motive is mainly to make a better world for his sister, and, in turn, for everyone who is oppressed. He has very strong emotions and sympathy and love are part of his motives. He commits most of his evil deeds because he is very upset, it’s an accident, or the ends arguably justify the means.

In short, Lelouche IMO is actually very like able and heroic. Though I feel Light’s wish to eliminate crime is good, he is entirely psychotic and does everything out of selfishness. His means have no justification. Light isn’t at all like able or heroic.

Lelouche weeps when someone close to him dies, Light intentionally kills everyone close to him without the slightest bit of sympathy or grief.

Oh I agree. His entire reason for ridding the world of crime is to make a perfect empire that he can rule over himself as God. He willingly sacrifices innocents and is a complete psychopath. The only reason I thought that Death Note and Code Geass were similar is because the way that the storyline is structured; a single character executing complex plans in an attempt to achieve victory.

I haven’t seen enough Code Geass to continue too far into this particular discussion, but while that series does have some things going for it, I just couldn’t get into it after watching so much of Evangelion, Gundam, etc. Too much of a good thing I think  .

You? Intelligent? ahahaha that is highly improbable!

^THIS. I have the OVA’s in HD, they are win, yes they are. I’m not normally into anime, but my bro showed me these, and I realy liked them. And because it’s set in the UK, no annoying angsty american accents! A DECENT DUB!!!

Also, I plan to get into some cowboy beebop, I;ve heard so many good things, and IT HAS FUCKING AWESOME MUSIC @_@
.

Well even tho patonki IS a dickface, he has a point.

Pardon me, but as someone who does not watch anime, what is the difference between an OVA and an anime?
