You know, I tried watching it, but as I am not one really to watch anime, I didn’t really like it that much. They took out almost everything I liked about the original, and even the original disappointed me with having, like, a thousand loose ends upon the abrupt ending. I’d rather have them just continue the original series. The only thing I like about the remake is that Dracula’s sidekick is more useful and actually kills people, instead of being completely useless.
I’m surprised no one mentioned Eureka seveN yet.
One of the best anime series I’ve seen to date.
Hellsing Ultimate is the OVA. It follows the manga more closely and is a lot more explicit than the anime.

Samurai Champloo: by the same creator as Bebop, it has the same kind of style and story-telling, though the ‘red line’, as it were, is much easier to follow. Also has epic musical jokes and shit.
Initial [noparse]D:[/noparse] about streetracing, specifically the mountain-pass racing style called touge, where two cars race each other to the top or bottom of a mountain. It has epic lulzy Eurobeat music and pretty nice racing scenes (and a lot of those, too 
).
Then there’s Bakemonogatari. The humor is some kind of meta-humor about anime and japanese culture. Has a very distinct drawing style.
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei: about a teacher who is in despair (zetsubou) about everything. Has very nice characters and is generally hilarious.

AKAGI THIS IS ABOUT MAHJONG THE MOST EPIC GAME EVER, FUCK YOU HAVE TO WATCH THIS SERIOUSLY GAR SHIT IS FUCKING GAR AND AWESOME.
And there’s Saki, a newer show also about Mahjong, but this one has lolis and implied yuri. lulzy shit is fucking lulzy.
Fuck, forgot to mention that. Fucking epic.
If Hellsing TV series were at least digestable (mainly because of the soundtrack and that guy in Red), Ultimate is an illustration of japanese fucked up idiotic sense of humour and the reason why I stopped watching animes 2 years ago.
Cowboy Bebop is worth mentioning (mainly because of the soundtrack), caught it up on TV . Heard they make movie with Keanu Reaves playing the main role.

Heh, these threads are entertaining. I actually like anime quite a bit (manga moreso), but it’s good to laugh at yourself every once and a while. FLCL has been mentioned… it’s good, but good luck wrapping your head around it. That’s the only one that springs to mind.
Well, I’m sure there’s one thing we can all agree on, at least: anime is better than Kendra.

Tengen Toppa Guren Laggan. It’s epic. The robots in this anime can throw milkyways. Don’t believe me? Watch the series.
Cowboy Bebop. Just a great anime about a space cowboy
Samurai Champloo. A great samurai anime by the same creators of Cowboy Bebop with hiphop influences. The animation is fantastic.
Gundam Wing. A good old mecha anime.
Gundam 00. A good new mecha anime.
Vampire Hunter D : Bloodlust. A very cool movie about a half vampire who hunts vampires.
Hellsing. Moar Vampire hunting

The first season of Pokemon was win. Just Ash, Misty, Brock and 151 Pokemon. Now there are too many characters to keep track of, as well as something like 500 Pokemon which is just stupid.

Agreed. The series had a certain charm back then. That all ended when they pulled an additional 400 pokemon from their asses and it became clear they had begun milking the series. The new pokemon aren’t even that interesting (“look, I look like a tree!!”), and the new characters suck worse than that Russian hooker the creators probably hired to blow them off while they threw around ideas on how to turn a great anime into a shit-cock alternative.:meh:
