Good Anime

Holy shit…I just read through 22 pages of this crap.

OT: I watch anime a lot…usually the 12 episode stuff if any of it seems good.
I’m mildly surprised no one mentioned Ghost Hunt or Angel Beats or even, for lack of an English translation, Kore Wa Zombie Desuka (despite its ridiculousness).

Does any of you guys happen to know where I can watch DragonBall Z with Eng subs? The eng dub is just horrible. Google is censored to shit.

https://www.funimation.com/dragon-ball-z/episodes

Seems to have both sub and dub.

Trying Ghost Hunt. Honestly, I hated Angel Beats. I had to quit only about 4-5 episodes in. It all felt so bland and bizarre.

Edit: Ghost Hunter is alright so far. I absolutely despise real life ghost bullshit and the people who believe it, so even in fiction where fantasy is acceptable the whole ghost culture still grinds my gears. But I like the two main characters.

Wish they would’ve continued the series… 12 episodes left much to be desired.

Only works in the US. Well, off to pirate that shit.

You could use a proxy or something. Probably more convenient to pirate it though.

Already tried but their website detects proxies and won’t allow me so.

Darker than Black. Seriously, best series I have ever seen bar none. You can watch the entire series on Hulu if you want to try it out.

Kuroshituji (black butler)

Someone’s mentioned Legend of Korra by now, right?

Haiyore! Nyaruko-san its still going only on the 6 episode and in subs yet. But it has lovecraft involved and is a parody of anime so its pretty great.

I love the opening song so much

Phantom: Requiem of a Phantom was alright. But I thought the ending was a little weak and the characters weren’t all to believable.

IDK if if this one’s already been mentioned, I watched it a while ago, but KissXSis is pretty funny primarily for how ridiculously perverted it is.

Anyone have any recommendations for me?

Also, there’s still this anime that I watched that I can’t remember the name of. With cyborg chicks and a James bond style spy girl as the main character who really likes roses. Tons of upskirt. Like even more than usual anime: there literally wasn’t a girl in the anime who didn’t frequently flash upskirt besides one girl in a skimpy ass jumpsuit. There was one scene where the main character kicked the asses of a shitload of skirted henchwomen on a boat. The henchwomen were sprawled out in a corridor and all 20 of them were flashing upskirt except for one whose skirt was blocked by a foot. There was a picture of this on the interwebz and I may have even posted it on this thread. The ending was in the bad girl’s mansion and she was a plane collector or something and all the planes got blown up. Still no one who knows the one I’m talking about?

According to a few minutes of google-fu, it would appear to be Najica Blitz Tactics.

Been reading some fan-translations of the Haruhi light novels. As interesting as the story and characters are, the sub-par translation leaves a lot to be desired. I’m wondering about the official translations (only up to 7 I think so far). Has anyone read both? Are the official books substantially better? Are they worth the money?

Holy shit yes that was it. Thanks!

I’m reallllllly picky when it comes to anime and, true talk, these following animes are both really good.

Just finished Gurren Lagann, which is a mech show which is WAY MORE than a mech show. I don’t even like mecha and I think it’s one of the most empowering show’s I’ve ever seen. Give it a spin, but watch the English version, since the over-the-top, exaggerated dub is half the charm.

Deadman Wonderland. In the middle of watching this one, and it is fucking twisted. High School kid has to watch his friends/classmates get utterly massacred one day, him being the only one spared. He’s found guilty of killing them all so he’s sentenced to death and sent to this fucked up privatized prison where the inmates operate this amusement park for the general public, and are run around and tortured for entertainment’s sake.

I must say that i prefer Manga over Anime. But if we are talking about manga, here’s my favorites:

  1. One Piece
  2. Naruto
  3. Historys Strongest Disciple Kenichi
  4. Fairy Tail
  5. Beelzebub
  6. Bleach

If you guys don’t read manga, you should. I personally think anime is a bit too much, i prefer reading, but whatever.

Currently trying to get caught up with all the chapters of various manga I haven’t read in a while. I got caught up with Berserk, and am reading Hunter x Hunter right now. Once I finish this up to the newest chapter I’ll probably move onto Soul Eater.

I couldn’t get into Gurren Lagaan. Something about it just didn’t grab me, maybe I’ll try it again. As for Deadman Wonderland, yes, it’s incredible. Unfortunately they never really fully played out the series’ awesome setting of the prison.
