getting files off of an Ext3 Hardrive in Windows 7

Just as the title states, i need the easiest way to transfer data from an Ext3 Hard drive to a Windows 7 PC. I tried using Ext2 Volume manager, but it won’t recognize the drive, yet the Windows interface as well as the Windows command prompt displays it.

I have some pretty important data in their and any help would be appreciated.

boot a linux live cd with ntfs3g support and copy the files from the ext3 drive the windows drive. The inode size was probably weird, which is why you couldn’t access it in the ext2 manager.

any recommendations?

is KNOPPIX any good?

Knoppix is intended as a live distro, it’s good. That’d be my recommendation.

Listen to Brother Shrike, he speaks the truth :stuck_out_tongue:

You can also use back track, it’s intended for security testing and stuff but you can easily mount ntfs volumes in r/w.
