Get Black Mesa on Steam! We can do it!

i have voted too… still 6 %

6% of the needed votes in just a few hours on a weekday, I think this is a good sign. I’m waiting until more people see the news, more hype builds, people get off of work or out of school, and the weekend comes around. Let’s see what happens to the numbers by then.

Until then, if you haven’t voted…what are you doing reading this? VOTE!

voted! : )

7%
It’s been around for 7-8 hours so if we keep it going at this speed (it’ll likely increase when the big news sites hear about it) we should have achieved the 100% mark by Monday.

Okay, so, sorry guys for the swear words that will follow…
But I’m fucking pissed off!
I’m hitting the YES button so hard, I almost broke my Razer Mouse by punching it, struck by the excitement I suddenly felt.

AND THEN…

NOTHING! This steam greenlight thingie is broken for me, and several other users, if someone know how to solve this goddamn problem, I’ll bless him on 7 generations, I WANT to see Black Mesa on Steam, sacrebleu!

I think this is really going to take off today. Remember, here in North America a lot of people are just waking up or are still in bed.

I can certainly see this hitting 100% before the countdown is over.

Wouldn’t it be a hoot if Black Mesa is the first game to reach 100%?

And even so, it only has to be on steam in order for the update (Xen) to be brought to all (actually even that’s doesn’t require steam). The only thing that doesn’t work without steam embodiement are achievement statistics.

Edit: My faith’s big, that steam willl be the first on the pending tab in greenlight…

I just saw the news posted on CS:GO’s Official Facebook Page, Valve is rallying for this mod?!

Voted YES at 7%.
Looking good!

I’m just a little bit shocked Valve guys didnt put u straight in, I mean this can only benefit them even if they don’t earn a cent from the game itself.

Voted!

Voted.

Out of curiosity, is anyone aware of how many votes it needs to be successful?

Well, I voted, told all my friends to vote.

I agree that it’s quite likely to take off when the US wakes up and starts getting in on this, it’s been averaging about 1% per hour so far with just europeans in the morning, it’s only going to accelerate when the europeans get home, the americans wake up, and the americans get home from work.

For anybody interested in keeping an eye on the progress of this thing throughout the day i put together this little desktop widget that shows the current progress of the vote from the greenlight page. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/68272416/blackmesa.jar (Source is here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/68272416/ApplicationMain.java for anybody interested), I threw it together in about an hour to save mysself from constantly looking at the greenlight page, so if it doesn’t work for you then tough luck.

You sure, that you’ve got the official CS:GO page there? Not the inofficial fanpage (which has more subscribers than the none existing official one)?

Haha. That widget is pretty cool.

How do I close it?

Right-click the tray icon.

Seems we just hit 8% btw

Lol when I voted a minute or so ago it was still at 7%

Your vote made it 8%

edit: I find it funny you named the tray icon Black Mesa, with the Black Mesa logo.

8%, I guess that already is pretty awesome. At what percentages are the top rates games of greenlight anyway?

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
