German Engineering?

Our country uses a lot weapons from Germany for its military, like this baby over here:

If there’s one thing our neighbours have in their blood, it’s making tanks.
Seen them operational at a military base, impressive machines.

fix’d

I’ve heard that German ovens are quite effective.

Wait, shit that’s Poland.

Edited to make sense

My cat has german cat tree, but it kinda sucks.

Germans had some of the most technological advanced subs during WWII. They didn’t invent them, but they were the best of their time.

I believe the reason that some Americans simply equates Germany = war is a lack of proper European history and current events education in American schools.

We’ve got some pretty neat metal bands over here, too.
“Blind Guardian”, for example. My favourite acoustic ballad of them, and basically their fans’ most beloved song, is the Bard Song:

Blind Guardian: The Bard Song (Studio Version)

Blind Guardian: Bard Song LIVE

Van Canto (Hero Metal A Capella Band) Cover version: The Bard Song

“Van Canto” support Blind Guardian on their tours. They do a lot of cover versions.

One of their more recent songs from the Album “Nightfall in Middle-Earth” (theme album with songs related to J.R.R. Tolkien’s Silmarillion):

Mirror Mirror

Others are the rock ballad Noldor and The Curse of Feanor.

Other acoustic ballads are A past and future secret and Skalds and Shadows.

They also wrote a song about The Hobbit.

I find them pretty awesome. :awesome:

But then, I got a nack for medieval melodies and fantasy tales.

They also got a project called “Demons & Wizards”, together with “Iced Earth”. The Fiddler on the Green is one of their songs.

Women? Thanks!

Your profile says location: U.S.A., so you are a German girl living in the US? Or was your thanks ironic?

Don’t forget to mention Rammstein and Rage  But Blind Guardian are awesome! I love the live version of valhalla (they’re better live imho).

I seem to like british bands for some reason…

i thought the engineer was texan

Probably. Not many former Allies even know how many countries were fighting with Nazi Germany at the time.

Yea, its honestly pretty sad, I weep for the future. How can you learn from history if you know practically nothing about it.

You cannot. That’s why it repeats itself. Only this time with deadlier consequences, because mass killing procedures have been perfected.

Tough hi-score to beat…

Phew it was almost getting serious there.

About the stuff during and shortly after WW2:
The lack of ressources, and hitler, who through his later, crazy plans (e.g. invading russia, using bombers as fighters, stopping savvy generals from making “good” decisions) kinda helped, stopped nazi germany. The rest is history (Operation Paperclip).

Also:
[personal opinion] Thankfully not all german “metal” bands play that annoying “medieval rock shit”. [/personal opinion]
Here’s a list including severel genres. https://www.milius-web.de/bands.php

Hey, Germany is pretty much the heart of Eurodance.
