I prefer the original translucent flame, that one looks too natural.
A combo of the translucent one and the “flameness” of this one would work, though, wouldn’t it?
After all, it is aliem fire, not energy beams
What, you mean like this? (Taken from one of the dev’s youtube test channels)

James said that’s not going to be used though.
Which means they likely have something even better being used.
Just like old day, huh?
That attack was so pathetic and utterly useless that… well, IT JUST WAS! It must at the very LEAST be faster and more ferocious.
it needs to be faster, HELL the GARG ITSELF was faster than its own attack.
I didnt know that existed.
Cool. TOo bad it never actually happened.
@Garg being faster, o dont agree. it was fast enough as it was.
INstead it needs to be more of a tank. attacks are farther reaching, and that red thing moves faster and is way bigger.
Ah yes, youre right. Thanks.
On another note.
This is kinda the intro to the Garg, its in a large open environment, easy to avoid. Every other time you see him (think Xen for best example) its in a tight enclosed environment. My point is that in this scene hes not supposed to pose a huge threat, just an ‘oh great look at that thing’ deal.
Excuse me for the off-topic but what the fuck is this? Looks like snow. I don’t remember seeing snow in Half-Life.
Wow awesome.
remember in ‘‘Apprehension’’?
in the room after the icthysaur-hingy-mah-higy, there was a scientist that sent you into a room with snow/frost. It had many vorts and headhumpers.
I think the Gargantua’s flamethrower effect should look more akin to this guy’s,
Only more pixelated.
Yeah, it was a cold room. There was frost on the walls. That doesn’t mean it would be snowing inside.
I dunno, maybe if something were shaking the place up, like, for example, some dog-like creature projecting shockwaves out of its body, or an alien of some kind launching searing bolts of mysterious energy around the room… that kind of disturbance might cause a few flakes of that frost to fall. Not that there’ll be any aliens in BM. Purely hypothetical.
There weren’t any houndeyes in that room.
could be for if something large knocks bits of plaster off of walls or something. Hey look, that was unintentionally back OT
We have no reason to think that was even meant for the mod. He might have just been messing around to see what he could do.
