And that’s why we didn’t ask you.
I knew someone would say something like that >_>
Because you know that it’s true.
soo… what are we discussing again?
[COLOR=‘Red’]The fucking topic.

some jiggle effect?
The ground stomp effect confused me when I was playing cause I didn’t know where the blast was coming from. Personally I’d be in favour of keeping the same kind of effect just altering the animation so the garg is shooting or spitting or something.
If they’ve made it a “shockwave” effect, at least make the Garg animation a little energetic. In HL1 it looked like it was stamping impatiently, sending out laser pulses in the process.
like a version of the effect in the original Half-life only intensified tenfold?
Might be a good idea to change the effect to slightly match that of the Houndeye, (the white blast) but then only in the direction he is stomping at, and a wave over more distance. You would have a ripple effect that pretty much associates with stomping the ground (maybe even after some edits) and a cool looking attack without too much work.
Downside, you won’t stay to the true HL, and it’s just a minor detail. It was a weird and easy avoidable attack anyways - might as well leave it out in my opinion.
It’s not so much staying true to the original HL as it is making something that looks good and fits with the gameplay, particularly the way the Gargantua is supposed to go about trying to kill the player.
Keep it the way it is, only better graphics, looks badass anyway x)
So we’ll have a slightly more attractive red beam snakey zipping around, trying to catch us?
Sounds almost like Pacman
IMO it just needs to be a tad more quick, and a bit more violent than it was in HL.
Yeah in HL1 it posed absolutely no threat because it was so slow.
Actually, the shockwave attack (that’s what it is) was updated in HLS.
And if, besides the shockwave attack, the stomp could do some kind of “flashbang effect” on Gordon? Ah, with the player on a certain distance of the gargantua, the stomp could make he loses his orientation by a certain amount of time and do things like making his current weapon to shake a bit, and Gordon could find hard to sprint away from the garg after the stomp.
Okay, while technically not on the topic of the stomp attack, I hope the garg’s flamethrower looks similar to (or better than) this:
