Valve has always offered great deals on their video games. Just look at the Orange Box, it was labeled “the best deal in video game history”. Steam constantly offers ridiculously low prices on games in sales. Why would they suddenly go with a super-high priced collectible line instead of a cheaper, mass-produced line? Even from just a marketing standpoint, wouldn’t they make more from a ton of $20 toys then a few $245 statues?
What do you think? Would you buy Valve’s figures if they had an affordable option? Would you buy the ones they’re offering now?
Me, I’d love to have Gordon, Alyx, a vort, a Heavy, an Engy, Louis, Zoey, Francis, and Bill lined up on my desk, but at current prices all I’d be able to think when I looked at them is that I really paid over $2000 for these guys.
