Gaming Heads Figures

Valve has always offered great deals on their video games. Just look at the Orange Box, it was labeled “the best deal in video game history”. Steam constantly offers ridiculously low prices on games in sales. Why would they suddenly go with a super-high priced collectible line instead of a cheaper, mass-produced line? Even from just a marketing standpoint, wouldn’t they make more from a ton of $20 toys then a few $245 statues?

What do you think? Would you buy Valve’s figures if they had an affordable option? Would you buy the ones they’re offering now?

Me, I’d love to have Gordon, Alyx, a vort, a Heavy, an Engy, Louis, Zoey, Francis, and Bill lined up on my desk, but at current prices all I’d be able to think when I looked at them is that I really paid over $2000 for these guys.

If these things were $20 i’d probably buy one of anything they’d make, especially if they were posable, because I’m a dork like that. I’m not even going to consider it since they’re so damn expensive.

I even thought about making my own figures, but I’m too lazy, cheap & anal retentive to actually do it.

expensive shit for insane people to hoard and die alone

imagine a smelly room with a flat bloated corpse still holding its gross lil dick in one hand and spelled out with thousands of dollars in anime figurines on the floor is LOOK ON MY WORKS YE MIGHTY AND DESPAIR

Spoken like a person who truly has no idea what the fuck he’s talking about.

Nutsack Never knows what the green fuck He’s talking about.

I would certainly spend $20 on a (posable w/accessories) figure of Nick From Left 4 Dead 2… He can sit on my bookcase and have a perpetual Gunfight with my Beastwars Dinobot.

I didn’t even know Valve made action figures. Mini companion cubes, maybe, but dolls?

Like nutsack elaborately said, they’re collectables for rich people with money to throw.

They didn’t, but just a few days ago they announced they were releasing figures from all their franchises. So far the only one out for pre-order is a giant 12" hand-painted $230-$245 heavy.

The website says “Gaming Heads will be bringing out a whole range of different products” so hopefully we’ll see some cheaper stuff later on.

I could make one for cheaper.

I would NOT give them more money for cheap (production-wise) little, worthless (yet expensive) dolls. Stick to teh gaems.

I’d buy some Valve action figures.

Gabe Newell action figure. :awesome:

They could just buy a ton of crowbars, paint them red, sell them with the Valve label and make bajillions.

I’d buy three. At least one.
And Valve Dev Action figures?
Gabe Newell with real HL2 release date missing action! :awesome:

Buy them on E-Bay in 10 years cheaply.

Anyway, they’re making HL2 props, so if the make a grav gun, I’ll buy that. (I’m assuming it would be functional.)

The Gravity Gun - fully functional physics mayhem in your hands!*

But we are all going to die 2012!!
It’s true! I saw it in a movie, and movies never lie!! :retard:

I want a Gabe Newell blow-up doll. :frowning:

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
