i think someone modded tony hawks so you can still play online so whateves

gamespy was still around?

This will be a problem for games that require a gamespy account to play online, like all the BF games up until 2143 or Borderlands 1.

I was surprised to hear this too. All of their products had been sold off to other companies years ago. Their forums were merged into IGN.

Yeah.

And ArmA is losing it’s server browser, other than Arrowhead and three, which are both being converted to Steamworks AFAIK.

it raises the question, games like halo 1/2 on pc will die (unless community is strong enough to produce an alternate master server, like how starsiege tribes folks did), others include the old Battlefields (EA hasnt announced any updates), and more importantly, older arma games

such a shame

Yeah I do wonder about the Halo PC servers. I still do occasionally play that, even after all these years.

haha was that still populated? rad

These days? Not so much. It’s still fun though.

Halo and bad company2 are my primary concern

maybe they will finally bring halo to steam, and if those games end up being successful during steam re-release, we could very well get the rest of the halo games for windows (microsoft is obviously not going to release ports for linux or Mac)

Fuck, I don’t think enough people like Borderlands 1 to make an alternative. No, I don’t want the Steam version.

EDIT: It’s not that bad! Borderlands and several others will be fine, and Halo and Bad Company 2 should probably be okay.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
