well , actually IIRC when Kleiner meets Gordon for the first time he’s more than anxious to “send him packing” with Alyx , idk whether that’s because he’s important to the whole operation or just another way to say “pack your shit i dont want you causing trouble here” … after all you could kinda look at the teleport failure in Kleiner’s lab as a reference to the resonance cascade in black mesa … and he’s not that much of a benefactor as an ally
