My steam account was just hijacked. Anyone who was steam friends with me i was [ZAP]$JRobs$, though that fucker probably changed it, so can u please report an account hijacking to steam for eternalness5, which is my account name. I had over $150 worth of games so any help would be greatly appreciated, and yes I have submitted a steam ticket.
What did you do that could possibly have welcomed teh l337 h4x0rz into your account?
I dont know, I change my pass every week so I dont see how he did it.
Let me guess. He posed as a guy from Valve, and said “if you don’t give me your username and password I’m banning you.”
No, I was playing prototype and i got the message that my account credentials had been changed.
Keylogger is my guess
Via email?
Fuck im leaving tommarow for two months, if steam doesn’t hurry the fuck up then im fucked.
I would strangle all of those fuckers.
You dont even want to know how pissed I am. Please guys even if we were not steam friends could u please submit a report.
A friend of mine had his Steam account stolen and he did it himself by contacting Steam Support. Oh, and it took a couple of weeks (plus the scanning of a legitimate CD key) for the complaint to work through.
FUCK!!! I dont have weeks, I have about 16 FUCKING HOURS!!!
So long as you have a legitimate reason as to why your Steam account got hacked, length of time doesn’t matter…
16 hours until what?
@Garcian Smith: I submitted my paypal info for a Purchase I made for steam as well as a image of the transaction info page.
@awsgames: I have 16 hours untill i leave for the summer for two fucking months.
Then when you return from your trip, everything will be fine.
You mean i dont have to do anything to get it back once steam has the ticket
AFAIK, Valve will send a new password with your Steam logon to the e-mail address you used to set up the account. If you have access to e-mail during your time off, it would be wise to keep an eye on it (just in case I’ve missed out anything) - but so long as you have proof of purchase of at least one Valve game, you’ll be fine.
But will the hacker will be prevented from loggin even though i haven’t loged in with the new pass. The closest thing to comp ill have access to is my iPhone 3g, which I dont htink i can do much to help with.
Yes. He doesn’t have your e-mail password (hopefully), so the new password to your Steam account will be seen by you, and you only. When you login with your NEW Steam pass, the hackers’ pass won’t work. All I can suggest after this is be more careful in regards to junk e-mail or strange MSN messages.
