The first thing I’d do is take Vista off, and put Windows 7 or XP on it.

I had to turn off UAC when it kept popping up in the middle of Half-Life asking if I had opened this file. Of course, minimizing Half-Life during a loading screen caused it to crash.
(I figured I wouldn’t turn it back on after that.)
