Freeman's Mind Episode 0

So, the ‘mystery episode’ turned out to be a Hazard Course training. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWqiagRDjmI

Awesome. Was kind of hoping he would do all of it though. But this reminds me how seriously good Freeman’s Mind is, and what a good writer Ross Scott is.

To be making great comedy when 90% of the time he’s got no material to react to in the game and to be this far is an impressive feat. And it’s genuinely funny - after the 34th episode I don’t think there’s one where I haven’t at least chuckled, and there are endless quotable lines.

I find it funny how it would be getting trough that training course in real life. I mean they tell you specifically in detail how to press a button and jumping over and ducking under pides if you are supposed to work as a scientist.

YouTube’s being very poop these days  Haven’t been able to watch any movie at even 240p without it constantly buffering every 5 seconds.

Hahaha awesome episode. Reminds me of that Hazard Course remake project we had going a while ago that died. Would anyone still be interested in reviving it when BM comes out?

these aren’t funney

You know, there does exist spam comments on YouTube saying: “720p finally!” n’ shit. Have you tried to check your Internet connection or restarting your router?

Too bad he stopped halfway through. Really enjoyed that episode.

This one inparticular is pretty bleh

I for one would like to see a mod of it for BM when it’s released. I wouldn’t be able to do it myself because I suck, but it shouldn’t be as hard as remaking the whole game!

We did have a number of people interested in it a while back, we even had our own private forum that one of our members set up. But there were too many conflicting ideas and trying to manage and organise even a small project like that was quite difficult. If managing a small community remake of a training course level was hard, imagine remaking an entire game.

I’m still interested in it. I tried desperately to get Chris to come back. I haven’t even really seen him on the forums lately.

I’m sure many members will return when BM comes out.

Too bad I missed that, I would have definitely helped out with modeling/texturing.

If it was that hard to do just one small level, how in the world have the devs gotten this far in the game? They must have infinite patience or just respect for one another. A trait not so often seen on these forums.

They also have this thing called talent, too. It helps.

Here’s the old thread: https://forums.blackmesasource.com/showthread.php?t=4543&highlight=hazard
edit: That m4rek guy is a dick btw, if we remake the HC when BM comes out, don’t let him on the team.

He sounds very…‘dedicated’ to the mod being started, which I can understand. I dunno why everything just died down, it seemed like the mod was actually going to happen until like the last couple pages, so I dunno.

We had our own private forum which just eventually stopped being posted on. I guess no one really wanted to assume leadership of the project and people just lost interest.

Projects tend to fail when there’s no work getting done (cap obvious). People are like ‘oh well they’re not doing anything so why should I bother’. It really kills motivation. If you have concepts and an idea of what has to be done (which should be documented) then people won’t sit on their assess and do nothing.

If anyone is interested in taking the lead, go ahead. I’ll be there if you need models/textures.
