fixing system filles through command prompt

Ok, long story short, last night i was really really drunk, and i decided to patch my system files in order to get a new windows theme. i have Windows 7 Ultimate and i edited the following files in C:\Windows\system32…

Stupid drunk me renamed the new files as well as the old files with .old at the end. when i restarted windows, as you probably guessed, i couldn’t get past the login screen.

so i tried to do a system restore by using restrui.exe, but it failed from multiple restore points. i navigated to the correct directory in command prompt and attempted to use the rename command, but the 3 files are missing. i Know they were in the system32 directory as

i just have to remove the .old from each title, but i can’t locate the files, Any ideas?

YES!

I figured it out, turns out i had made backups in another directory a long time ago and i just used those.

Mods, please close this thread.

you could just patch it properly with linux

custom themes and your PC is fixed

win/win
