I thought it was being developed by Hidden Path and that Valve was the publishers.
EDIT: Apparently not, they working together. Though the Steam store page says “Developer: Valve”.
It’s a co-Hidden Path venture. According to Chet Faliszek, about 40 Valve employees have worked on it in some capacity.
Hidden Path wouldn’t be very hidden if they listed them as the dev on steam now, would it?
reading a bit into this thread I remember thinking “there’s nothing wrong with CSS why make another???” now I think “CSGO is like CSS but for HL3 generation”
It’s actually just the opposite. They want to make a new CS for the 1.6 generation. They’re still a long ways off from pleasing those guys (if such a thing is even possible) but the vast majority of the updates in the beta have been iterating toward a more 1.6-like experience.
Although I’d imagine a good number of COD kids who stumble onto this on XBLA will be pleasantly surprised, but that’s just because CS is inherently crack.
He is referring to graphics I think. Just earlier he was commenting on the detail.
Yeah gameplay-wise all CS games are very similar to each other.
I want to see them all cry on Playstation Network when the PC pros kill them all.
CSGO will no longer be cross-platform on consoles.

Their reason for dropping it is that it would be impossible to keep all platforms synced in terms of updates.
I’m sure they will manage to pull it off in the next one after CSGO
Whoever has the CS:GO beta should add me on steam so I have people I know aren’t assholes to play with. Be forewarned I suck at CS though.

Nah, I like accents it’s nice variety in the voices I hear. It gets tiresome hearing what is basically the same white male voice all the time.
Yeah, that’s the part me and my friends usually end up talking about when we play on American servers. Why do all american teenagers sound the same?
Playing with swedes, or other non-english speakers, I can tell who is who by their voices after one match, but when playing with americans it goes days or even weeks and they all sounds the same. English is such a monotonic language.
I can tell apart American voices, its just it gets bland.
That’s why whenever I play with a mic I scream into it as loudly as I can.
