firefox cpu usage

Hello everyone,
I have a strange problem, Firefox uses at least 25% of my CPU permanently.
I could find out that ZwWaitForSingleObject is causing this and that this functions is from module ntdll.
What can I do now to stop it from using 25% of my CPU permanently?

EDIT: I found out that notepad++ has the same problem with the same function
EDIT2:
Firefox 3.6.12 Gecko/20101026 .NET CLR 3.5.30729
Notepad 5.4.2
AMD Phenom II 955(4 x 3.2GHz)

Try disabling some of the plugins you ff users are so taken with.

That or upgrade your Pentium II CPU.

if you don’t have anything constructive to say GTFO!

yeah that Pentium II might be the problem, try changing it.

ok, I guess I fixed it now by reinstalling .net stuff and vc++ redist.
Thanks for your idiotism!

Am I the only one who reads that ‘Phenom’?

he had the same problem with notepad++, so yeah …

firefox uses 100% of CPU power on my pentium II laptop which is running windows 98 se

for old computers I recommend opera 9.51, but for a phenom II any version of ff should be no problem, on my desktop I run minefield (nightly build)

ok after the problem returned I tried a few other things and noticed that this happens only with RadeonPro running.
