Firefox Bookmarks bar

Right, so I recently installed Windows 7, and had to reinstall Firefox.

For some reason the Bookmarks bar keeps disappearing, like in the picture below.

I have used the same layout for a long time without any problems, but now every time I restart Firefox the bar disappears.

Any thoughts?

right-click on the bar and select bookmark…

I’m not that stupid, but thanks anyway.

The bookmarks toolbar is there, but it just gets reduced to a dropdown menu (notice the double arrow?) for some reason.

You’re dutch. :3

Are you sure this is Firefox 3? Even on windows 7 it looks very different… and I can’t think of any reason why it wouldn’t be there, I can’t even hide/delete my own bookmark toolbar.

Try this solution:

I think I had this problem once. Isn’t there a keyboard shortcut to show/hide it?

I’m Belgian, actually :wink: It looks different because I rearranged the layout.

That seems to be a completely different problem, bob, but thanks.

Again, the toolbar is there, it’s just getting reduced to a dropdown menu.
When I edit the interface, or even if I just enter the Customize menu without changing anything, the bookmarks show up. They just disappear again after restarting Firefox though.

It’s probably because of the address bar being in the Bookmarks Toolbar, but I’ve always done it this way without any problems. Basically, the Address Bar is forcing itself on the Bookmars Toolbar, so to speak.

This is what it should look like.

Edit: found a solution:

Go to X:\Users[Profile]\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles[numbers].default\chrome and edit userChrome.css.

Add the following code:

#bookmarksBarContent .bookmark-item {
visibility: visible !important;
}

Thanks for the help :wink:
