Firearms: Source

In case you didn’t know, FA: S was released on Friday. It’s a source version of the Goldsrc mod Firearms made in 2003. I’m not the biggest FA fan but the original game was pretty cool in that there was a boatload of weapons you can choose (and carry!) at once and had interesting gameplay. The new source version seems to have preserved that awesomeness

Thoughts/experiences on the mod?

Looks like Combat Arms on Source, but I still like it. Got my download when I come back to New York

i’m not eve interested :stuck_out_tongue:
loads of media in ‘gallery of new files’ in wiki …

does this mean something…

JUST KIDDING

but it is true look

I’ll admit. I was a bit confused at first that there were no iron sights. Then I remembered this was just a translation of the original mod into the Source engine with no big changes done to it.

Still fun but I’m no longer used to these fast paced online shooters anymore. Too many hours of BC2.

Maps are poorly optimized, level design is terrible, and there aren’t…that many guns. It’s not very great, I don’t like it.

How cute, Counter-Strike’s got a little brother.

Looks like Firearms on source to me.
Anyway, I only played a few rounds yet, but it was fun.

I remember Firearms. it was bundled on the discs in the Half-Life Generation boxset

My question is, should I even bother?

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
