FF "Error" On Motherboard

Ok so, I know this is usually a code people have problems with on booting up a computer, but for me almost every time I shut down my comp, my motherboard comes up with FF as if an error occurred during shutdown. I then have to hold down the power button to shut it off. While everything else shuts down (keyboard, mouse, monitor goes to sleep mode) the actual tower unit will stay on until I hold down the power button to turn it off…

Any ideas?

Try resetting your motherboard.

The motherboard manual tells you how to do it.

Before resetting your MB, make sure your operating system of choice isn’t set to “hibernate” or “standby” There also might be a setting in the BIOS for “soft off by PBTN” under power management, make sure it’s set the way you want.

Following suit with the OS settings (i.e. your start menu default might be Hibernate and not Shutdown) be sure your BIOS settings are set to S3 (or S1&S3). If it’s S1 only, your tower will stay running.

Otherwise - Operating System? 32 or 64 bit? Hardware specs? Connected devices?

Sleep mode is pretty cool when all your fans are plugged to the motherboard in some way, very quiet in standby (no fans, no HDD running just the RAM).

Thanks all… sorry I haven’t responded.
I think I figured out the problem…

Fucking Java Updater was holding back RAM for some retarded reason each time I shut down. My comp seems to shut down properly if I end the process.

Just stop running Java Update on startup. It’s probably in msconfig.

I used to do that, now I’m so lazy I put a taskkill cmd file in startup

That is so ridiculously retarded.
