Sadly, the spit travels at a constant rate. But there’s not a lot of time to sit still and shoot from afar, since you have to keep moving.
My first remodelling attempt had them spit “shotgun-style”, which made dodging a lot more fun (almost like playing this but with a pool of acid), but that led to engine crashes when six balls of acid hit those breakable boxes at the same time. [COLOR=‘Gray’]Machinegun-style appears to be 100% stable.
But… I think the alien grunt should be able to shoot all their bees at once (without crashing the game)… and I wonder if I could convert the big and mini- turrets’ machineguns into an automatic shotgun…

That reminds me, the Bullsquid should have two different spit attacks: The stable ball for long range, and “shotgun style” for groups and closerange.
Why a short range spit? If you’re close enough it will run at you and either bite you or swing its tail.
He will charge, and if he misses he always spits at you 
I always loved the Vortiguants. They look like they wanna rip your chest open (The way they sometimes glare at you with a pissed look) and have a cool voice, along with the most bad-ass alien language and sound I’ve ever heard. Damned vocal chords.
I forgot to say this, but not in the gay way. I mean the backstory. I thought that was funny. If it was the gay way, I wouldn’t have an ex-girlfriend 
Seconded. I would love to have my own vortigaunt pal that could read out good night stories to me with his awesome voice and protect me against burglars with his awesome lightning. 
And whenever I say something wrong to a hot girl he could bring me back 10 seconds into the past, and I could try again. Woohoo!
