IMHO, looks fucking terrible. The graphics are beautiful. The story looks like it could be good. The world looks awesome. BUT THE GAMEPLAY LOOKS FUCKING AWFUL (judging by general gameplay vids, not that one in particular).
The combat mechanics are basically a Frankenstein of everything about modern gaming that makes me cringe. Horrifyingly overused regen health in a game where it doesn’t belong, gratuitous ammo so ammo rationing doesn’t matter, weapons as plentiful and as disposable as diapers, excessive enemy location arrows, etc. etc. Games like that will always bore me.
Far Cry 2 was a boring slog. Huge environment that was tough to navigate effectively, missions that effectively boiled down to fetch quests for completely reprehensible war criminals, and combat that rarely felt fair.
There were redeeming qualities- tearing bullets out of your body and the general feeling of vulnerability brought on by the malaria was great. The graphics were pretty damn spiffy and I liked how weapons could jam. But there was a point where the game just stopped being fun. I can’t really describe when precisely it was, but at any rate I’ll have to replay Far Cry 2 to really remember the reasons I didn’t like it in full.
And for the longest time I saw you slogging away on MW2 nonstop.
Looks like they disabled it for filming, but from what I’ve seen in other videos the HUD is one swiveling thumbstick prompt away from a game-breaker
If there’s an option to disable it in-game this shit will be outrageous. I hear they took away the pull-stuff-out-of-you healing though.

You must remember, I’m relatively new to gaming (like four-five years), MW2 was the first competitive shooter I ever had.
