Face API and Headtracking

I love the 3D effect it causes. I imported a bunch of maps to mess around in. The faceposing aspect of it would also be super sweet. Realistic conversations ftw.

If VALVe decided to actually make this a semi-official part of Source, it’d encourage a lot more modding, and probably make other game developers follow suit to have the “cool technology” Source has.

you know what would be cool with this feature, removal of the need for a mouse alltogether, just twitch an eyebrow for the mouse button you want to hit.

^That would just be fucking annoying. You would have to be in isolation when gaming, you can’t respond to anyone without pausing the game.

True, My ideas suck anyway.

What’s the best way to import maps into this?

It’s been ages since I’ve had to modify something beyond installing an .exe.

I’ve been spoiled :3

Yeah, to bad there’s no other mods released that officially support it besides the tech demo. “City 17: Episode 1” supposedly will feature it, though.

I tried it out for a bit, it’s pretty cool, it’s just that you have to pick one or two rahter than combine them.

Yeah. They conflict if you have them all on. I usually only check the one that adds a 3D effect, and sometimes the iron-sight one just for the realistic crossbow scope.

I can’t wait to try this. I’m gonna see how it works with 3d glasses. Double 3d!!

EDIT: Why does nothing in existence EVER work??? Head tracking gives me some funky error I’ve seen before that I am too pissed off to try and fix.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
