F.E.A.R-ish AI for HECU Marines

Also the human race has the capabillity to think the best form to react wich isn’t just instint, I mean if you see fire instead of running of it like animals you will inspect a little first.

Now talking about the best form to react I think the H.E.C.U. need the Call Of Duty 2 form to react on a grenade. Catching it and returning it to the enemy if it’s close.

That isn’t safe or smart. If anything, they should just kick it away from themselves.

I’m always skeptical about the whole tossing/kicking back of grenades. If I was in a combat situation running from a grenade would seem like the best idea unless I was cornered or hiding behind a lone piece of cover. Going anywhere near it should be a last resort.

Synths are creatures that have been turned into machines, Overwatch just have mechnical parts. I’d imagine that a human soldier would have a fair bit of its original body remaining, while things like Striders are almost entirely mechanical.

I’m talking like if the grenade lands right at their feet, they should kick it.

Kick and run?

Grenades are generally used for two things. One: to draw an enemy out from cover into your sights which you can easily take them out unless they find more cover. Two: To get the cover of fire off of you while they scramble to get away from the grenade. If you get lucky they will get harmed in the blast and possibly killed. Impact grenades (Ones that explode on contact I don’t know the actual name unfortunatly) Are more used to take out a line of enemies quickly. Since it explodes upon impact it doesn’t give the enemy much time to get away if they don’t see it. If they see it coming from a distance however they will get away with minor injuries or no injuries at all.

Following that explanation, heres the short version. I would not be the ones to pick it up and throw it back. Theres never enough time to aim it right where I want it to go, and always explodes before it either leave my hand, or explodes in the air. So I just book it for the next available cover. shrugs

Technical name is concussion grenade. Aren’t too common these days because their design makes them much more likely to explode while the user still has them.

I eat grenades for breakfast.

My teeth hurt.

Thank you baconeggs. I unfortunately never keep up with the weapons people use to kill eachother, so names never come to me straight away. if you were to show me an MP5, I probably wouldn’t even know it was an MP5, I’d just call it a machinegun.

I get really happy to get mention. :awesome:

the kicking it suggestion is also a good idea, I mean if you haven’t anywere else to go before it explodes and it lands in front of your feet. Wouldn’t you just kick it and search a possible cover while the enemies who threw it are trying to above it?

huh? :brow:

On topic: No kicking, no throwing. Running for their lives will do just fine IMO.

sorry I didn’t wrote it well I meant:
avoid it. Also why not kicking? Maybe not in easy difficulty but in normal they could do it sometimes and in hard do it always, but just when it lands in front of 'em

Chances are, they’ll kick it at other soldiers, creating an awfully hilarious scene.

What I meant to say is, it would be next to impossible to get this to work in every situation, the environment in BM will not consist of flat surfaces only.

kick

grenade hits wall and rebounds

Oh… :fffuuu:

How about a game of Wall Ball?

Wouldn’t be anymore ridiculous than putting a grenade on the floor, seeing Freeman and completely forgetting about their own explosive.

or barney or a scientist, srisly that happened a lot in hl1…

They just played to much CoD 4.
