Life imprisonment because I don’t really think the state has the right to murder its citizens, and there’s always the chance of killing someone who turns out to be innocent. Also, I lean towards rehabilitation rather than punishment.
It all depends on the crime. If you, say, do what this asshole did, and they prove without a doubt that you’re guilty, you should be given solitary confinement followed by death by torture over 3-10 years. If you’re not such a scumbag, just solitary would work.
That guy gives a bad name to serial-thrillers everywhere.
I still believe nitrogen asphyxiation is adequate despite being humane.
I call bullshit on the whole expense thing, death row is way cheaper.
Fuck, you can beat the person to death with a freaking rock if you want to be cheap.
Not true.
I’m for imprisonment. If they find out he’s not guilty, they can let him out and give him a few thousands of cash, if they killed him, they got a raging family/public.
Life in prison, you locked up, eat, sleep, work.
God most of the people in this thread are fucked up. I hope you get killed for a crime you didn’t commit. Pricks.
My dad’s watching the local news in the next room. I guy raped a 15yo girl and spent 10 years in jail. Now he got out and sued the government for bad conditions in said jail. He won and the government has to pay him about $15k for his suffering. WTF? IT’S A JAIL!
Your opinion is just as valid as any others in this thread. No need to attack them personally just because they don’t share your views on the subject.
And the guy is still a human being, no matter what he did.
[COLOR=‘DeepSkyBlue’]Matthew 6:14-15: “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
So basically, if you are willing to send them to death for their wrongdoing, don’t expect any better from God when it comes to you.
[COLOR=’#00bfff’]1 Thessalonians 5:9-10: “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.”
Executing someone (albeit by proxy) is still an act of extreme wrath, which God says is a no-no.
You are right, they will face what they’ve got coming to them once they do die, but it’s not our job to send them there.
Worrying about the cost is b/s, regardless of which side it supports. You should not kill someone. Just don’t pay your federal income taxes if you’re that p’d off about it. It’s not constitutional anyway
I just wish lifelong really meant lifelong, and not the about 20 years (I’m not sure what the exact number is) we have here. Otherwise, lifelong.
I haven’t been a fan of execution ever since I heard from a very reliable source that there is no life after death.
fuck off with your christian bullshit
Christians believe in heaven/hell just like kids believe in santa claus.
Wtf? It wasn’t directed at you. I wasn’t preaching to everyone to support my beliefs, I was showing Rossman (who mentioned Hell, so I figured he believed the Bible) why his argument to use religion to support the death penalty was flawed.
Sheesh, guys.
